Actually I just thought that the Crow contact in Denerim is called Ignacio, which is a Spanish name too...

Yes, Antiva is a fictionalized version of a medieval Italian city-state like Venice. It's not a perfect comparison by any means, but then none of the Thedas nations are meant to be. They're inspired by real-world history, but that's where it remains.
No, we did not use an Italian accent for Antiva.
And marioflag is half-right in that the original name for Antiva was Calabria. But only because we liked the sound of it. If there are any further similarities between the real Calabria and the Antiva that we have now it's purely coincidental.

No question that Orlais is like France, and I guess that Tevinter being the seat of an old "pagan" Empire which converted to a new monotheistic religion is a bit like Rome/Italy...Shipwr3K wrote...
orleis is suppose to be like france, and antiva like spain. I dont know, lol, thats just what my brother says.

Zevran definitely does NOT sound Italian. Ignacio, however, does.

I didn't know that anyone actively disliked them. They appear to be a very honorable family, so...no idea. Oh, and I don't think there's any question that the Couslands were staunch royalists. Unlike the Howes, they never collaborated with the Orleisian occupation.
I guess some people don't like good guys.
Hmm?
More then likely, judging by the way the new guy is acting, he was out of the country for most of Origins.
If you were away from your family, and heard your uncle, a man who you trusted, loved, and believed in fully was killed by a group that was well known for being Orlesian Sympathizers, and upon coming back learned only that he killed another family, wouldn't you also view that as an "political excuse" to get rid of a man who hated Orlesians?
It honestly doesn't sound as if he has any idea what the hell happened, other then the fact that a man he cared deeply for, and knew hated Orlesians was killed by Orlesian Sympathizers in a political move, why should he be a caring and understanding man about the whole situation, your going to have to tell him what happened, and override his natural love of his father/uncle.
Or maybe all those years of my dad telling me to look at things objectivily, and my mother telling me to look at things from a political view have caused me to stop looking at things from a normal perspective, and I see a very powerful ally once I get him under control here, rather then a threat or an idiot.
Of course if your human noble origin GW then the situation would be alot more complex and less involving of Orlesians. I doubt he could have learned anything about what happened and not find out that the Warden that killed Renddon was a cousland
No one but Loghain seems to think the Grey Wardens were Orleisian sympathizers, and this fellow must know that the Howes themselves sided with Orleis until losing a decisive battle in which the Couslands fought against them. Either that, or he really doesn't know much about recent history--one wonders how that's possible.
Anyway, I think the OP was referring to players, rather than the new character, although the new character's ideas are interesting.

2. I hated the Couslands for being so fake. When you walk into the room with your father he calls you PUP. I was happy to see him die for that.
3. Nathaniel Howe will get one chance. If he calls me any names i will gut him.

You should try it one time. I think the HN part of the the story is great, because it puts you right in the middle of the political part of the game.

Knowing Rendon, i'm thinking he told this guy the Couslands made up the story out of jealousy or something.
And yes you are correct. I was talking about the players, but it's okay.

With my HN I only wanted to kill Rendon Howe. In fact the Couslands and Howes were close so she was probably friends with Thomas and Deliah and wouldn't blame them for their father's murderous actions.

Zevran's accent is Italian, not British.
Zevran's accent sounds more of a Russian/Eastern European type accent to me.

I guess Antiva is some kind of Republic of Venice... where people speak spanish. And where 'flowers are always in bloom', so a bit more warm and mediterranean than real Venice.
Trust me, Zev would sound much less intriguing if he spoke with a venetian accent...
