At least it's not like DA:O. If you play it the first time as one class you already know what it would be like to play the other classes as your companions are almost exact copies. Killed replayability for me and I only completed it thrice.

No, not every game needs multiplayer. Look what happen to Bioshock, 2 sucks compared to the first one because they focused on the multi (while it was fun, it was not needed) and the story just plained suck.
That was kinda inevitable. There was no reason to go back to Rapture, especially not as a big daddy. It was forced, the multiplayer had nothing to do with it. In fact it might of been better if they had just gone with the story in the Multiplayer and let us play in rapture as its being torn apart by civil war.

MW 2's multiplayer is insanely popular though. Not that I play it. d:applehug wrote...

Also no multiplayer. I'd (selfishly) rather have them focus on additional story.

As for getting tired? Nah, I'm only on my second play.. well 2nd and a half.. tried a male shep.. just couldn't finish it. So I've got insanity playthroughs to do for every class except for infiltrator. I'll probably tire of it after that.

I don't have interest in multiplayer, but have never tried it. Why do you say this?applehug wrote...

That being said, I am suffering from ME withdrawals. What the game companies really need to do is to make more single player RPGs that aren't fantasy-based/JRPGs. I've played ME1, ME2, and Fallout 3 to death and now can't find anything to fill the void.

I agree with the OP though that significant amounts of DLC to liven up the universe in the game would be nice right about now. I hate to admit it, but I kinda miss the explorable worlds. It was fun to find Thorians, Starship Troopers-esque sidequests, little side plots with Cerberus, the mysterious Prothean ruins and the trinket activating a genetic memory, etc. The side quests in part 2 are great, but they lack subplot, I feel. Unlike most I actually loved the main story/quest line in ME2 (reminded me of the Doolittle raid or something to that effect), but the thing that sucks is that there are none of those fun side plots besides the character loyalty ones which -- to me -- don't cut it so much.

Booo on multiplayer. ME is just lovely without it.

I totally agree! I actually just brought dragon age but I'm having a very hard time getting into the fantasy world (same with Oblivion when I got that, though I eventually learned to like it). The thing with me is, I find knights, medieval times, roman times, etc. so fascinating and awesome as-is without all this magic and potions and make believe worlds and species thrown in there, ya know? Why can't there be an RPG that's just like about Hungarian/austrian knights, archers, bards, etc. facing the onslaught of the ottoman turks, or something?
I don't mean to knock fantasy and say everything should be 100% naturalistic fiction, because that would be horrible too, but I'm just saying that the whole orcs-elves-humans-dwarves in almost every single story-driven games out there gets kind of olddddd. I miss the days when you had huge variety.. .Space Quest, King's Quest, Police Quest, Gabriel Knight, Sam and Max, Maniac Mansion, Wing Commander, etc. etc. etc. Good times.

Almost every FPS these days has to have mutiplayer or a good multiplayer or else a legion of pre-pubescent will complain about it and the game will ahve poor sales. And in the case that they do implement multiplayer, the singleplayer sucks.

I was wondering the same thing myself. I'd love to play a historical fiction-based RPG.

But implanting multiplayer in the Mass Effect series would be huge mistake.
Mass Effect is a single player game, by adding in multiplayer, they probably would not have as much time developing the story which in turn would ruin the game.

There are other games you can try and not wait for DLC, maybe craze for why you have to wait 2 years until ME3.
It's called a life. Besides gaming there is the sunny outside, you should try it, it won't burn your eyes.

Well by now everyone has beaten the game for the 100th time, going through the game with every possible combination of dialog choices. So were getting bored of the game. Don't get me wrong its a good game. But now we are relying on DLC to keep up engaged in mass effect. And well, I don't see any damn DLC so far. If Bioware wants to keep us engaged in ME2 until ME3 comes out, they better be shhhiting DLC out their asses so that a new 5 hours worth of gameplay are available to download every week. But I dont think thats gonna happen. Hmm if only there was multiplayer.
I beat it twice, one paragon/vanguard and one renegade/infiltrator (I do have a job/wife.. and even then I played when I was on vacation) and have yet to do most of the side quests. I am currently doing a speedrun of ME1 (I bought it in Jan 2010... so when I beat it I ran out and got ME2 immediatly).
It shocks me that anyone would beat it as many as some here. I beat it twice and I am far from bored. I can't think how many hours I have got out of my 80$ so far... probably some of the most quality gaming hours for the money I can think of.
You may be bored now... but think of the time you put in. If God of War 3 is anything like GOW1 or 2... I will beat it once... and that would be it.

If all else fails, stop for a month and then play again with the new dlc. I haven't played ME2 in two weeks and I'm still doing alright. This eye twitch is a little concerning, but nothing worth worrying over I'm sure.
