Addressing the part of your post that won't be as hacked to death as that part; I'd prefer they spent less time on DLC and more on Mass Effect 3. Actually, I'm conflicted about how soon I want Mass Effect 3 to come out. I want it to come, but when it does, it's all over. ME2->ME3 could be a good grow time for the series, but I don't want it to last longer than it did last time.
Keep in mind that any sadness I will feel for the series ending does not even compare to the level I will feel if Mass Effect 3 is not an ending.

Oh ok, well I suppose it is a good thing that I am not a shooter player.applehug wrote...

I don't have interest in multiplayer, but have never tried it. Why do you say this?applehug wrote...
Multiplayer is a cancer that's destroying shooters.
Almost every FPS these days has to have mutiplayer or a good multiplayer or else a legion of pre-pubescent will complain about it and the game will ahve poor sales. And in the case that they do implement multiplayer, the singleplayer sucks.

If I want a multiplayer, I go play Unreal Tournament or Quake.
There are other games you can try and not wait for DLC, maybe craze for why you have to wait 2 years until ME3.
It's called a life. Besides gaming there is the sunny outside, you should try it, it won't burn your eyes.
Actually, it does burn my eyes. They are photosensitive, so it hurts if I am not wearing my sunglasses. Much better to go out for the night life than when the sun is out.

Other than multiplayer shooters being the most popular genre in the history of gaming....you might be on to something.

Well by now everyone has beaten the game for the 100th time, going through the game with every possible combination of dialog choices. So were getting bored of the game.
This is to be expected. If i made you eat cavier everyday for a year, you would be throwing up at it too. Overall though, it is quite amazing to me that i've played ME2 for nearly a month. Other games like Borderlands, i find myself having no wish to run thorugh it again though it was fun while completing it. That took about a week.

I'm fairly certain that he's referring to recent trend of sacrificing a great singleplayer to add multiplayer.ZennExile wrote...

At any rate, I'm not even slightly bored with ME2 yet. There's so much to do in the world and I find something new every single time I go through an area. Hell, I've played ME1 at least seven times and I'm STILL finding new things to do in that game.

As for multiplayer? No. Hell no. I'd imagine that it'd play like a dumbed down Gears or a slow Borderlands if there was a multiplayer mod.

And at the end of this month we'll be driving the Hammerhead. But surely SOME of you must have the sense to realize that we're being quite spoiled with all this DLC so soon after ME2's release. Most games take about 5-7 months before releasing ANY DLC at all, and most certainly not for free

The only games out there anymore seem to be stinkin' shooters and godforsaken sports games (I hate sports). I am simply amazed that I like Mass Effect and Mass Effect2 so much. Only Bioware could take a genre I loathe and produce a game I adore. Only Bioware.

There's obviously a long wait between when the product is finished and sent off and when it arrives on shelves, so the issue is not that the DLC is early so much as it is... what are we going to have pay for? Something like that rumourered Liara DLC?
Not to mention that some of that free DLC was not available to anyone who either lived outside of America, did not pre-order their ME or did not get the Collector's edition.

Yes, the replay value just isn't there for me. After playing three games (I wanted to see the Tali romance in game 1, the other two were male/femaleSheps staying faithful to Liara) I feel like there isn't anything left for me to see. the story overall isn't very interesting and the characters could all go take long walks off short piers for as much as I am able to invest in them.
The combat and gameplay while much better than ME1's isn't good enough to make me want to just run around shooting random stuff for no reason. There are other games out there for that which do it much better.
So, I went back and played ME1 again.

If they bring back 'data files' in ME:3 then theoretically you should be able to edit everything from the beginning, especially as weapons are no longer indiivudally equipped and armor doesn't seem to be restricted anymore.

The more I think about it the more upset I am with the rather low lvl cap and the selection to continue the game past the final save. If you do all the recruitment and loyalty missions you will be lvl 30 or very close to it at least, so starting a new character doing DLC content means that I would have to do it all between IFF and Omega 4 since that's the only part of the game that doesn't force you onwards in the story, and I would be lvl capped the whole time

The Dialogue is all predictable (thanks to the good/evil dumbing down), and not really all that compelling. The romance scenes look to be clipped from a made for PBS movie. At first glance you can ignore these things for the greater good of your conviction that 60$ was not too much for this game. Trying to trudge through them again for any normal gamer is like trying to ignore the bad acting in porn... You can do it but why not just hit the FF button?
Then you get to the super amazing awesome fun time combat that everyone says is the best thing ever... And when you realise it's just a poor cover shooter mod with magic grenades... you find yourself frustrated, not by challenging game mechanics, but at having to "get through" this section of the game just to open up the next part. After that point you realise every shooting gallery is exactly the same and you really don't have a valid reason to keep playing other than a completionist compulsion.
They made Mass Effect 2 very easy to get bored of.
