But gotta go with majority here (like on the more RPG elements needed stance), multiplayer offers nothing and if anything drives this ever further away from RPG.
There is a billion and one shooters out there with multiplayer, go play them

This game is a one shot experience. There will always be zealous gamers who will play through a game 15 times to see every single aspect of it, but remember those gamers only do this because of a brain abnomality that drives them to do it. They do this with every game the decide to play.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with playing through games time and time again, whether that be to see everything the game has to offer or simply for kicks. That's the whole point of replay value; I'm not paying $60 so I can play through a game once and move on, I'm paying $60 for an experience I can go through again and again.
This goes quadruple for choice-driven games like Mass Effect where the experience subtly changes each time. I've played through Mass Effect at least seven times and I've played through Mass Effect 2 twice. Do I have a brain abnormality? Of course not, I find the game to be very well made and a lot of fun!
Really, opinion is fine but let's not confuse the issue with blanket statements like the one you made.

Most gaming companies seemed to be under only a few large umbrellas. As much as people hate EA, most of their bad behavior is in the past. Activision seems to be the new idiots on the block...

I've never really had a problem with EA, they are better now than ever tho...a lot of quality games being released. And Activision killed Blizzard so I'm slightly upset with them

Yeah, people slam EA but they have a interesting strategy: Turn out a bunch of crappy but sellable games while still supporting solid releases like those from Bioware. I haven't seen Bioware turn out 6 Mass Effect sequels in three years, so its clear they are willing to let those under them "do what they do best". Look at Maxis, as well. You may hate the Sims, but they are actually very polished games and Civilization is, well, just Civilization.

The abnormality also causes a disconnect between the effects of it and awareness which can result in mental defenses being raised unknowingly in order to defend the abnormal perspective.

There was never any mention of it being wrong. Completionists just make terrible replay critics because it don't matter what game they play they will always play it into the ground, rake the carpet, and try to sniff up the leftovers. Even if the game is aweful.

I'm a bit curious. If you've only done one or two completions of the game, then you must've spent more times on this forum making posts about it since I keep on seeing you here everytime I log on. Nothing wrong with it, but I'm just wondering why.

That's a hell of a lot of gaming though. What was that, about 60-80 hours?
I like to suck dry all the gaming goodness as I RARELY spend money on games. I usually only buy a handful evey year, if that. At least with semi-regular DLC and mission packs/expansions in the next year or so ME 2 will stay relatively fresh.

Sorry, EA confirmed their intent to make all their games after 2011 have multiplayer in some capacity (with the sims and spore if it isn't dead, that just means the online stuff they already have), which is bad for bioware. Say hello to CoOP in Dragon Age 2 (which is being rushed to release in 2011), and CoOP+Competitive multiplayer in Mass Effect. To save time for the Q1 release date of Mass Effect 3, we can expect the gameplay to be balanced around multiplayer.
I haven't heard this, the only thing I have heard confirmed is that EA wants all games to have DLC.
Also, where did you hear DA was being rushed for 2011? A lot of this sounds made up, mate.

I somehow doubt this because it would be complete and utter idiocy for EA to require multiplayer in the finale of a singleplayer trilogy.
Haha, okay so I went on the defensive a bit too easily. I personally am only a completionist in games that I enjoy, which is partly the reason I have yet to complete Fable <_<You have to admit your responce was a bit... suspect. ../../../images/forum/emoticons/tongue.png

Well, its been confirmed that a major Dragon Age title will be released (a leak hinted that it was DA2, I can't post it here or I'll get banned) in Q2-Q4 2011. Hopefully that leak was just a BS rumor and its just another expansion pack, but I don't think Dragon age 2 or Mass Effect 3 could be done justice with a 1.5 year development time.
I wasn't sure about the mutliplayer thing though, I'm hoping its just DLC for all games, but they seem to want games that it fits with (for them that includes ME3 as its "a shooter".) to have multiplayer.
JeanLuc: The irony of you saying it as if that would be the dumbest thing EA ever did is staggering.

We should be careful about rumors. Wikipedia, a "definitive source", was edited to say ME 3 will be out in January 2011, lol. Unless they were secretly working on it in the bat cave, they would be one hell of an amazing turnaround.

Oh I finished it, but then my kid ran away and got zombie glitched so my save got stuck in a replay this level loop... I just picked the game back up last week and discovered there is still no actual fix for it. I did self medicate one night and discover how to break the glitch but now after all that... I've got no inspiration to keep going. Even the thought of getting a new dog using DLC can't compel me to spend the 5$ and start playing again.

EA has stated they intend to have ME3 out by early 2011. And seeing as they often have unreasonable expectations, Q1 2011, isn't ridiculous (for them to demand.)

if only there was multiplayer.
It would turn out like a wanna be class-based shooter ala Global Agenda,
Also, when soldiers adrenaline-rush on the internet, the temporal issues caused by different players moving at different time-frames would destroy the universe.
