I have a brilliant idea. How about only those who have encountered problems/bugs in the new patch USE THIS THREAD!
Oh, my god, it's such an amazingly novel concept. That's for every one of those "It's fine for me" posts, every one of those posts praising or dissing the game that offer no advancement to the topic, the posts that are trying to rile up the others... etc.
Bioware mods, what other info can be helpful? I posted my system specs a few days ago, the problem is sporadic but every time it's happened to me was in the middle of combat, and I don't think there's any companion groupings it happens to more frequently. The crashes occur around one or two every 20 and 30 minute play session, usually depending on how combat heavy the session is. There is no error code that automatically comes up, nor is there any log that's obvious. However, I AM a new windows 7 user, so there might be ways to get more prominent error reporting above and beyond it's defaults. I don't mind helping to work toward supplying you with information, but I do need help identifying what might be useful and how to dig it up for you, any help would be appreciative.
Nice sentiment but you are being naive. You really think your data is going to help Bioware solve the problem? I am in the software business for years and let me tell you this patch is a mess up in such as major propotion that you and a few poster's data isn't going to solve this problem.
This is a simple case of neglect and blatant disregard of software quality control. This is patch 1.03, not release 1.00. Patch 1.02 worked pretty well, all these software engineers at Bioware has to do is re-run the test scripts they had for 1.02 to make sure at least what worked in 1.02 still works for 1.03.
If Bioware really cared about customer service and product quality, they would have done a better job with the release of 1.03 patch. If they had cared, they would not need a few people's emails and posts in this forum on what the problems were. This is a serious software devepment project with millions at stake, their QA team should have found the same consistent and simple to find bugs we all are encountering.
so really, the problem here is not how much more data we can provide Bioware, they would have found all the data they need if they cared and were serious about it. They have done a good job up to 1.02 patch. I don't know if if they had a new team doing 1.03, new management watching the release or just simply don't care after they made big money with all of us buying, supporting their product and spread the good word. But really to solve the core of the problem is to let Bioware know how upset we paying customers are, how we will not tolerate this and how that's going to hit their bottom line. Trust me, I've been in the business for years, and that's how it works.
And yes, I encountered bugs in 1.03, bugs that I am 100% sure didn't existed in 1.02 which I spent over 100+ hrs playing. But I think everyone should tell Bioware how they are upset at this failed patch instead of being a good little test rats for them doing their work.
