God, why do I bother paying people to make defective products? Give me an option to get my money back you liars. You really expect me to keep paying to get ripped off?

Add me to the list of those experiencing FREQUENT crashes (CtD) after installing patch 1.03, but had NO crashing under 1.02. (Although 1.03 has fixed the ever-increasing load-time problem, which was pretty bad!) On my rig the CtD seems to occur mostly at the very beginning of combat, or when an auto-save might be triggered.

patch 1.02 gave me broken quests in denerim and a strange FX noise everywhere except camp, but 1.03 sounds like a disaster.
I played through the game 1st time on a Pentium 4 with half a gig memory. not terribly slow, (med graphics) never crashed. no patches - no problems. now with new hog quad core Win 7 machine and huge widescreen monitor, am not going to mess up what is a marvelous experience. (3rd playthrough)
time to get back to my own work. guess I should thank B'ware for not hooking me for another month or two! *rolls eyes*

This is exactly what I'm noticing too- whenever it crashes, its at the beginning of combat, not too soon after opening a door or entering a new area.

I was only able to test pick pocketing on one NPC (a generic soldier). It appears from that one test subject that it's still broken. I got the successful pick pocket message, but nothing added to the inventory.
For posterity, my specs again:
Windows XP Home 32 bit SP3
GTX 260 Core 216 video card, 182.08 drivers.
Core 2 Duo E6750 overclocked to 3.4 GHz
Gigabyte P35 DS3L motherboard
4 GB (2 x 2GB kit) Mushkin Redlines. Slight overclock on these (running at 1020 MHz)
3 hard drives. Game is installed on a different drive than the OS.
On-board sound.
Mods: I have the JB textures, respec, Innodil's Pocket Plane, faster stealing cooldown, and Stamina Potion installed.
*edit* Oh, I have the digital deluxe version of the main game (from the EA store) and the retail version of the expansion.

I played through twice under 1.02 and NEVER had a problem once. Hope they patch this quick.
UPDATE: I usually play at 1900x1200 widescreen. If I drop down to 1280x960 then I can play through any part that crashes, so I definitely think this is a graphic memory leak/problem of some kind.

Is this in Awakening? If so, that's working as intended. The only DLC items that carry over into Awakening is the RtO stuff. None of the other stuff will.

Pandaman: thanks for posting.
One thing I'll point out is the tiara you mentioned pick pocketing is a plot/placed item. Not a random item. It's the random item stealing that's broken in the patch. However, perhaps pick pocketing works in Awakening or works once you install Awakening. I'll be testing this if I can pick up a copy today.
Again, thanks for the info.
Hi, I am not going to buy and install Awakening before I have completed Origin - if installing Awakening would fix my problem. I really don't want to stuck in patch 1.03 until the end of Origin.

Achievement Unlocks definitely are part of the issue (at least on my machine). Every time I unlock an achievement performance goes right to Hades - it can take upwards of 15 seconds for the achievement message to appear, during which time graphics tend to hitch and (a new occurance) audio stutters a bit. I got it knocked down to achievements because I got my first non-in combat one since patching (I got the nimble fingers or whatever, for disabling a certain # of traps).
It definitely hurts performance while the achievement unlocks - and performance degrades a bit faster post that point. Only solution is exiting the game, letting the computer sit for a little bit, and then going back in.

Ah... no mention about problems, bugs and stuff.
Oh well.
Guess it would take too much time to type "We are aware of the problems and are working like moogles on speed to fix them"
