reinstalling the whole thing, and that means backing up/restoring Mods and saves wich is not a hard task but time consuming nonetheless, or playing the game with this less distorted interface and pray that any bugs will occur. I'd rather do the first than risking to have several headaches with something that was suposed to give me pleasure -,- . In a nutshell, Bioware/EA if I were you I would keep my eyes wide open...

Pfft. I think I'll find out what kind of problems the patch has before I install it. 1.03 kinda made me lose faith in BioWare as far as patches are concerned.BrunoB1971 wrote...

That's assuming the DLC requires it. Even if it does require extensions to the base game, Patch 1.03 likely included them already. It's just that Bioware wouldn't have said so because Darkspawn Chronicles hadn't been announced yet. However, you can be sure that it was either complete or close to complete at that time.

Right now, i just want my money back. Haven't been able to play DA for about three months thanks to a messed up Steam-Version which can't be rolled back to 1.02. Maybe they should start charging fees for patches - that would most probably speed up things very much...

Please let's make it clear your Joking as Bioware might think you got a point. So let's be clear. A Patch is something to make a product work that we already payed for. So patches Are Payed FOR!
So no Scary Ideas BioWare!!!!!
It needed to be said!

Hmph... I don't know about you, but that's the worst idea I've heard yet. I wouldn't even buy a game if I knew that it required a subscription just to get patches. Either that or never patch it. And who would want to pay for a patch that screwed up the game as much as 1.03 did? Nope; I don't care how you look at it, that's suggestion isn't even worth considering.Uebelkraehe wrote...

well pay and we will fix our screw ups, and make it more like what it was suppose to be when you first paid.
oh? that broke it? well pay for this patch that corrects that but breaks these.
oh want those fixed?
pay us
ok to be honest we are making breaks on purpose so you will pay for patches at this point

Yeah, I have to agree. If it ever comes to the point where you have to pay to get a patch for your game, that's when I abandon ship.
While I too agree that we should not even think of paying BioWare more money to get the game fixed, this shows how desperate some of us are. I can totally relate.

They want a patch that will not break all that new DLC , And force them to redo it and retest it.
So they want to fix the problem yet not change to much that force reworking the new stuff.
SO SAD - TO BAD !
Real World Bioware Some times plans (in fact often) Go Wrong. Fix the Game And rebuild and retest all that finished work.
I remember once in high school I had written almost 3000 lines of code and realized I screwed up the project Goals and in order to fix it I was going to do more typing Fixing it than just starting over.
So I deleted it. Yes I cried.
It sucks but thats life. Now please grow up.
BioWare Men grow some balls BioWare Women some Ovaries and fix The Game we payed you for and worry about fixing and making compatible the Unsold DLC LATER !

I think the major Problem here is Bioware Planned out 2 years Worth DLC, most of it to be payed for and had already been made by Bioware. So any New patch has to not break all that new content Bioware was planning to sell and not just fix what's wrong. As they are already Made! So you see it's the problem of putting the wagon before the horse. So now they do not want to rebuild all that content. They are kind like kids who need to remake there beds becouse they used the wrong linen but hoping that the problem will fix it's self.

I'm not clear on the purpose of your rant. Nathan has posted twice in this thread that they're working on fixing the problems. If it's not coming fast enough for you, fair enough. But I don't see how you're concluding the DLC is already made. It's not. There's a separate team that works on DLC.

-Game crashes.
-Read ME2 forums.
-It's not even being considered (as it was not a single core machine).
-Latest post on ME2 crash thread is a bot selling viagra.
And here I was expecting Bioware not to have gone THAT bad. I actually was expecting like... a patch.
Guess not.
I guess they are trolling their customers...

I never had any problems with DAO; now I'm playing DA Awakening with 1.03 patch and it's crashed to black screen 3 times in between the first fight with the First and the fight with the Baroness. This in my view makes the game unplayable - I really do not like my machine crashing like that since goodness knows what state it leaves my machine in. Judging by the huge amount of postings, I would like to add my voice asking for a bug fix to address this problem.
Also of note, I had similar problems with Mass Effect 2 (though no such problems with Mass Effect) - The only way I got around the ME2 problem was to lower the resolution right down and switch off the fancy graphics options. This made it playable but not the way it was surely meant to be played.
For what it's worth my systems specs are:
XP Home Edition (32 Bit) SP3 Intel Core2 6600 @ 2.4Ghz, 2G RAM, Geforce 8800 GT, DirectX 9.0, 512M Driver version 196.21.
... though judging from the wider variety of other posters on this and related threads, I'd be highly surprised if it was my spec.

Okay, I'm not firing from the hip here or anything, I know different departments are working on different things, but good lord Bioware, what's the good in releasing DLC when the game is broken? Okay maybe not completely broken, just the patch, but when every bit of new DLC requires the busted patch to work, it defies belief.
Can we expect anything released in conjunction with the patch? Or will the DLC just be another waste of money like Awakenings, until you decide to fix the patch?

Ah the separate teams again, if you are wise enough to see what you have been selling, your different teams specially the so-called patch team should have fixed it already. I wonder though if this team you are referring to has members and not just a single nerd swamped trying to figure out what to put in and what to take out.
Do us a favor and just ask Bioware when will they release the patch, that way dragonsource and other frustrated DA players like me who paid for the game will stop ranting on your face and return to a decent and interesting forum. And please don't even try to say, "the patch will be released when its ready."
