Furthermore, I'm running v1.03 and I have spotted another glitch, yet not of much significance. When you go to unlock a door, the icon shown is that when you actually have the ability of unlocking it, but I probably don't. It says ''Not Possible To Pick''. Dunno if anyone else has spotted this, just thought of mentioning.
@Zartan
Start->Documents->Bioware
Backup the whole forder and uninstall your game. Then copy the files to your computer, and reinstall DAO. You can then stay with patch 1.01, if you wish. Otherwise...

boxed version patched to 1.2b. The game CTD randomly, usually when I'm in a
town for some reason. I also have the slow load times over time problem. It
really kicks in when moving using the map.
My biggest worry about the 1.03 patch is having my DLC disappear, which seems
to me a problem with this patch. I have all of the DLC so far. Got the Dragon
Armor and Shale with the game, and bought the other two levels. I would be
really upset if I lost all my gear, because I have all my best stuff in my
storage chest that I got for completing
Warden's Keep
(was a really nice surprise because I didn't know about the chest until I saw
it) I really don't want to have to try and get it all back if gets messed up.

AMD Anthlon 3800+ 64x2 ,2.01GHz
Nvidia 9800GTX+ ,6.14.11.9107

Weird lag after 1.03 - As your character is running along it seams to hit a transition point like you are running into a new area and your "Box" (computer) is trying to load it and it is having a hard time.
Crashes - Yes, In pre 1.03 six and a half play thoughs, only two and one of them I bet I caused. After 1.03 (one fourth of a game) Four ?
As Eurypterid states
- Pick Pocketing not working
- Game 'lag' (stuttering)
- Mana/Stamina bar glitches
- Increased game crashing
I think these four problems, at least, are patch related.

minuntes before I have to save again, exit the game entirely, re-open
it, click on configure and run a scan, before i can play again-- for
another fifteen minutes, before the games crashes again-- in one form
or several others. It isn't just one thing. It is a series of different
events that occur --as described in the damn FAQ.
I just saw on
my bank statement that Gamespot debited my account for the Awaking
expansion pact. I wonder now if that was a good idea, buying the game.
How many bugs will be in this one and will our main characters really
transfer to the Awakening. Anyone wont to wager that it will fail? I
spent a lot of money on this game and I want it to work 110% of the
time: every time.

Disable the "Automatic Save Game" in the options menu and stop using any and all Quick Saves. If you have a game that is a manual save, go back to that and start adventuring again.
I've lost about 6 hours in game time today because of Quick and Auto saves crashing me back to desktop ever time I resume a quest or change location or try and switch a team member. However, a manual save does not seem to have the same problem. I can load up and zone / swap team members with no issues.
This is what my event viewer states when DAO crashes (this or something similar):

With 1.02 patch played through entire game without a single CTD or problem(lag etc). 50+ hrs with no crash is an amazing thing compared to many game out these days. Don't ruin your reputation you are earning with new bioware customers like me with these broken patchs
Having to reinstall and add back patch 1.02....
Once again...
Thanks a lot for the new useless game breaking patch that fixes minor bugs and pretends to fix others only to break the overall game.

I wonder if the crashes are related to any specific mods?
I'd say not - as my frequent crashes happen on my mod-free install -- I do have most the DLC, but the crashes seem to happen in the 'main' content.

Crashes: I had one crash to desktop on 8 weeks of playing before installing 1.03 and 4 crashes in 2 days after installing 1.03 (2 crashes to desktop, one crash to restart and one crash to bluescreen that ended up in me having to reinstall NVIDIA drivers!)
Slowdown/lagging: Before 1.03, I was experiencing some lagging during conversations - video would become very slow/choppy but would reset itself usually within 2-3 minutes if left alone. After installing 1.03, the lagging began to show up duing gameplay with frequent lagging occuring during combat or even while re-equipping or even just while moving charcters through non-combat/non-dialogue situations. Noticed lagging got worse as game went on. Loaded some old games with high-level characters and lagging kicked in almost immediately. Also, unlike before, lagging would not correct itself - restarting the game was required.
Re-downloaded and did clean install and patched to 1.02 and excessive lagging no longer there (and no crashes since, either) - can only assume it's related to the patch! Not bothering to contact EA Support since the last time I did so (with the cutscene lagging) they told me that the game was designed for 32-bit system and my having a 64-bit system meant game might not run properly...
Looks like my Awakening days are gonna be postponed until they fix 1.03...

No crash problems yet but I've not had 1-2 hours steady play time since Steam applied the patch for me. Only had time to run through RtO once so far.
Not sure if this is a new bug or not (new to me) but I have some companions who don't show changes to damage when swapping weapons in camp now also. Even when going from dual wield to bow it shows damage as if two weapons are still in use.

This may not be patch related. I had the same thing happen to me on patch 1.02 as well as having all my DLC disappear from the map (Honnleath and Warden's Keep). Found a solution in one of the stickies in this forum.

Edit: Nevermind. After the 4th try, it finally let me fight.....
Edit 2: It crashes almost everytime I go into battle.
Hmm. I guess there's no way to uninstall patches...XD

On the other hand I think...why the he** is this necessary? EA and Bioware are not small names. I don't understand that this game has so many problems that the players end up having to fix the game for them. Maybe the people here with confirmed fixes should get part of the profits from this game. I really think it's shameful.
Maybe I am strange in that, but when I buy a game, I feel I should be able to install the game and play it...is that too much too ask?
