Bugs with 1.03 patch...

Typically I use a GTX 260 however this has been RMA'd and I am using my old 8800GT which runs it as well as the broken GTX 260, but only under the old 1.02 patch. No crashing in places where it typically would occur under the new patch (combat in general).
I will give props to Bioware though, the game feels a lot smoother when it isn't constantly crashing.

The answer is simple. It's the PC version we are talking
about. The day when game developers gave a rip about quality PC games are long
over.
Thing is, this game was developed specificaly for the PC and ported to the consoles. So in this instance at least, I tihnk hey 'give a rip' about the PC version.

1.03 patch broke my Dragon age: Origins as well, can't go for more than 5 minutes without a crash now. The -dx9 fix doesn't work but -dx10 can get me up to 10 minutes without a crash but with loads of freezes. Updating video cards drivers didn't work either.

Kepha, I think you are full of ****. Why is it up to the customer to fix your ****ing problems. So long as you got our money for DAO, all of the add-ons and the Awakening, you people could give a **** less. I dare you to prove me wrong?
To my knowledge, Kepha is not a BioWare employee. Keep your posts civil please. If you have issues with patch 1.03, post them here with as much info as you can provide. If you have issues with a particular forum member, take it to PMs.

Been pumping dexterity like crazy for
the past 5 or 6 levels, however, my duel daggers' damage (as shown on
the inventory manual) hasn't change whatsoever.
I've read a couple posts elsewhere that suggest this is just a display error and that you actually are getting the proper damage (but the character sheet doesn't show it). I haven't tested this myself though.

Game will get extremely laggy or slow after about 30-45 mins of gameplay for no reason that I can see.

And would mean that the 1.03 patch just exasperated an issue that was also present in 1.02a, 1.02, 1.01 etc.

My game is constantly dipping to below 5 fps (for no real reason), and I've never had a crash. My pc is also "average", so i doubt thats the case...

Spec: i7, HD5850, 6GB ram, Win7 64bit.
Using steam and was automatically patched.
Extremely frustrating as 1) pickpocketing bug is so obvious and universal, how can any professionally managed QA team on a multi-million dollar game project missed that unless it is rushed or not giving attention 2) all these freezes and crashes that were not happening in 1.02. What kind of moron is running the team when 1.02 was 95% fine and the new patch make it nearly unplayable.

Dont think that is true at all... iv etried Dragon Age on 3 pcs and all of them are crashing since the latest patch.. where NONE of them crashed before thi patch...
Also 2 of the 3 are very good pcs and rant the game extremely well before thei latest patch.

just to add that I have freezes after 10~20 minutes of playing after 1.03 patch. The game simply freezes and have to switch out and kill it using task manager. Never had one crash or any problem with DAO under 1.02 other than the long load time problem, and that's after 2 complete play through and over 20 experiment with various origin.

I agree, Its so wierd to me how the game can work flawlessly for me during 1.1 and 1.2 and then now 1.3 it crashes every 5-10 mins, right after the latest update came out. Hope bioware fixes this...

Not true, this happens to me on two different level graphics cards. My GTX260 being the more powerful one. Even under the weaker 8800GT it still falls over and dies more than it ever did under 1.03.
To be perfectly honest the patch makes everything nice and smooth, way better than under 1.02 but it is hilariously unstable. Worse than before which is hard to believe. I thought it was borderline before, with the odd crash, the increasing load times and what not.
If the expansion is reliant on this patch in any way, I'm afraid I won't be getting it.

I'll ad my two cents; pick pocketing is broken As reported, it seems you can pick pocket money, but not items. You get the message that stealing was successful but no item in your inventory. I had thought it was working okay, but that was a result of poor testing on my part. Further investigation tonight confirmed it's not working with this patch. So far, I've seen no other issues. The game did crash once last night, but it's been prone to that for me since I got it, so I won't attribute that to the patch.
System specs:
Core 2 Duo E6750 overclocked to 3.4 GHz
4 GBs (2 x 2GB) Mushkin Redlines
GeForce GTX 260 Core 216
Gigabyte P35 DS3L motherboard
3 hard drives, with the game installed on a separate drive to the OS.
Mods: Respec mod, faster stealing cooldown mod, stamina potion mod, Innodil's Pocket Plane mod.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight so because the game ISNT crashing for you, must mean that the rest of us are liars or there is something ate up on OUR end.....Right Right....Of COURSE....Does this guy smell of EA to anyone else or is it just me?

Semper: Do you have any DLC for the game? I also have a
boxed version patched to 1.2b. The game CTD randomly, usually when I'm in a
town for some reason. I also have the slow load times over time problem. It
really kicks in when moving using the map.
My biggest worry about the 1.03 patch is having my DLC disappear, which seems
to me a problem with this patch. I have all of the DLC so far. Got the Dragon
Armor and Shale with the game, and bought the other two levels. I would be
really upset if I lost all my gear, because I have all my best stuff in my
storage chest that I got for completing
Warden's Keep
(was a really nice surprise because I didn't know about the chest until I saw
it) I really don't want to have to try and get it all back if gets messed up.
i've installed all available dlc and nothing disappears or gets corrupted. i've played for 3-4h and encountered no crash nor stuttering framerate. quicksave- and load works like a charm.
my specs:
c2d 6600
gigabyte x38 ds4
4gig kingston (4x1 bar)
8800gts (512) with 191.07
vsync disabled
settings maxed (1680x1050, anti-aliasing 2x)
no mods installed
