For the same reason as many people here write Kaiden and Shepherd. You'll get accustomed in time, heh...

Actually a latinization would go the opposite way - ALL c's are hard. It's more of and englishization (if that were a word) than anything. Russian does the same thing. Caesar (pronounced like the German Kaiser) becomes Czar. Maybe there's some slavic influence? I doubt it. Probably some proto-germanic influence from when the barbarians stomped all over everything. Or even some kind of hybridization from the local vernacular when the Romans left. The Hispanians always had funny accents to the Romans - Beati Hispani quibus vivere bibere est!  You'll notice modern day Spanish has soft c's all the time, but like I said, that could be from the Visigoths OR the old native tongues.

Or who knows! Maybe it's a natural progression in language. Off topic I know, but this kind of thing is so much fun to talk about!

You're letting your emotions cloud your judgement. Not surprising. I'd argue that anyone who survived Akuze should have been given an honorable discharge.

That is something i never really thought about.......did they give him a Psych evaluation? Post Traumatic stress can be a real shocker.
