Hey I've played through this game again and again... and I just don't get it... why is this guy such a huge ****?

It's no wonder he's a virgin... if he was IRL he'd be a virgin AND unmarried forever (coz of his personality).

I highly doubt it. With the amount of fans this fictional character has, I doubt he'd stay unmarried.

That said, he's one of the better characters if you ask me... but I guess you like characters like Sten more?

But he's such a loser! Shoves his responsibility to the protagonist, a newly-deemed grey warden, instead of taking charge himself. That's an act of cowardice. Plain and simple.

I like him and wouldn't care if he stayed a virgin and never married.  I would still like him.  Is there any special reason you've reduced him to to a sex object or at best a wife-ish sex partner, hmmmm?  Something you'd like to get off your chest?

Alistair was written as a Templar which is of the same mold as a palladin. Part of the draw to him by women is the fact that he is untouchable, and women want that challenge from a celibate warrior. I find Templars (and palladins for that matter) annoying yet necessary. I take Sten over Alistair any day.

Alistair must be one the kindest, most honorable and genuine (not to mention terribly handsome) characters I have even come across in an RPG. Yes, he can be corny at times but that is how he is written and it is extremely charming. It seems as if the people that dislike him so, must be either be very insecure and feel threatened by his virtuous nature or are simply villainous individuals. I suspect there also seems to be hint of jealousy present (IMO).

Okay, so he wasn't written as a big, strong, fearless leader. He was written as a young, naive and rather innocent guy who suddenly has over whelming responsibility. I think it's believable. Not every hero starts out macho! LOL

You must be utterly insane to make a statement like this. You could not be more incorrect, please. Have you played as a female PC and romanced him? He is a darling flirt and terribly charming; he has some of the best lines in the game.

The only thing about alistar that annoys me is that

he won't ever accept logain. NO, we DON'T need to go into that alistar/logain debate here, I'm just stating my personal pet peeve, because I enjoy having every character possible in my party in an RPG.

Otherwise I find him failry believable, has a good character, good voice actor and isn't bad looking either.
