Started up the game today - clicked to resume from where I left off, only to be told "This saved game includes BioWare premium content. To load this saved game, an owner of the following premium content must log in: Collector's Edition The Stone Prisoner."
I think fine, I'll login and load my game, which works... Shale is in my party, and I was thinking 'I'll talk to him to see if I can raise my influence with him etc...' only to see him posed like he was in the townsquare where I got him. I thought at first 'oh god now he's pulling crazy jokes on me'.
I see my only options to talk to him are 'Dulef gar." (Activate the golem.) or (Leave the golem alone.)
and I realize, its like I never activated him, I've gone through the werewolves with the guy, and now I'm at Redcliff, but I can't talk to him anymore. I can use him as a character, but that's pretty much it. I am curious if this is because of the recent patch 1.01a...
All I can say is, this pretty much is a show stopper bug if suddenly I can't even use the content I've registered without it apparently being corrupted.
Shale nolonger works.

It might have to do with running the game as administrator.

RapeWorm, the login notice was for me to login to the server (Bioware) not to run the game as administrator of the computer.

what rapeworm was probably referring to is admin rights are needed and fix some know bugs as listed in the checklist of possible fixes that is stuck up at the top of the forum.

Shale seems to be the unfortunate victim of a lot of technical problems. I've created two posts about serious--read: game-breaking, or darn close--problems with our earthen chum, one pre-patch, one post-patch. It's a shame. We need more queeny, skull-crushing, magic-powered constructs in our games today. Here's hoping for a fix soon.

The Stone Prisoner suddenly shows as UNAUTHORIZED in my dlc page ingame ...... the patch seems to have done this because under my profile it still shows up as valid. I send in a ticket, hopefully they repair it soon!

You may want to take that back. I own the 360 version and my Feral Wolf Charm has disappeared off of my DLC list and now I can not load any of my saved games. I just get an error stating that I am missing DLC which is contained in my saved games and to re-download it. Well, I can't re-download it because it's gone from my list. It was there last night, it's been there since Tuesday when I redeemed the code for it, but now everything else is listed EXCEPT that charm and now it's preventing me from loading ANY of my saves.
I can't even play the game now unless I start another new game, which I don't want to do. I already have 3 chars, I don't want a 4th.

I'd love to know the percentage of these support threads that are directly related to the Stone Prisoner DLC. It seems like a LOT of people are having problems with DLC in general, but this particular quest has become a bit of a disaster. If anyone hears about a workaround or a fix, be sure to spread the word.

Well I decided to bite the bullet, remove Dragon Age Origins completely (deleting saves) and reinstalled it. Applying the patch 1.01 - and creating new characters. Its a pain to go this route since I felt like I accomplished a lot. Everything seems to be fine, though I have not gotten to the first camp yet with my new characters. I'll see what happens when I come to shale. Hopefully future patches won't break saves so I have to repeat this process over again.

Just a heads up from what i've seen the reason for it screwing up like this is basically due to-
Playing for a certain amount of time and during gameplay LOSING connection to server becoming logged out, and then (assuming people have 'always logged in' ticked) logging back on automatically (this causes the dlcs to break ie. wardens keep NPC returns to camp, shale is untalkable, certain items from dlc may disappear from inventory and be available to rebuy at merchant in party camp eg. bergens helm). We players don't realize and keep playing and saving until we go back to camp.
If you've been manually saving then if you go back far enough you'll find you can talk to him again and all's good, and wardens keep (if you have it) will still be ok, (i found a 'safe save' but it was 8hrs gaming earlier).
I'd recommend making a manual save regularly, so that if this happens you don't have to redo too much (unless you don't realize it for hours like i did).
BTW this happened to me before patch. The issue is more to do with maintaining connection with authentication servers i believe. Of course the problem wouldn't exist if we could play this content offline.....
