Wow, sounds awesome thenApollo Starflare wrote...
Tried it out earlier, pretty snazzy. Funnily enough I was on the IFF mission at the time, so plenty of husks to zap. It's certainly handy for crowd control and seems to do okay damage, but it probably really shines versus synthetics. Not sure what the ammo cap is but 280 flamethrower rounds translated to 8 shots.
Any one give me their impressions of it on Insanity?

okay, BioWare, is this weapon similar to the Imperial Dark Trooper's ARC Caster from the Battlefront games in any way? because it seems like it. and that weapon was friggin useless.
Definitely not useless. Tested on a blue suns side mission, it takes down regular troops' shields in a chain reaction - very useful for pretty much instantly making the whole room vulnerable to powers.

On my soldier suicide mission reload, the weapon appears to have 19 shots (with the ordnance pack equipped and 6/6 HW upgrades). I'm guessing stock capacity is somewhere around 9 or 10 before upgrades (could be my reload was bugged with the ammo/ordnance pack issue where you're not given the proper amount until a reload).
My initial reaction after hitting a bunch of collectors with it was

sorry, I wrote that wrong, I mean useless in regards to the Dark Trooper's ARC caster. I haven't tried the new ARC Projector yet. my bad.

Does it have any effect on him when in HC or Insanity?

On a more serious note, kudos to Bioware for continuing to support Mass Effect 2 with DLCs like this. Looking forward to the Firewalker DLC!

No, I understood you perfectly. You said the ARC Caster was useless, and you asked if this Arc Projector weapon is similar to that. In that respect, no.

This game really needs some variety in terms of items/armor/weapns (not heavy cause we already have a **** load of them).
Nevertheless THANKS Bio for the awesome gun, can't wait to finish up my ME 1 playthrough and start over with this weapon and the Firewalker DLC.
Cheers!

Most important question regarding any heavy weapon:
How does it look on the back?
It's smaller than most of the others; folds to be rectangular. I only checked it out for 5min or so, but I think i prefer it to the others.

I think it's exactly the same ammo capacity of the grenade launcher based on a quick toggle between all the heavy weapons on the Normandy.
Probably a base of 10 with a max of 22 (all upgrades and the armor bonus).
