The negotiator dude for Colonist-background mission is French too, I believe.Llandaryn wrote...
At least the French got a foot in the door with Dr Michel. Though I'm guessing she's probably French-Canadian, which doesn't really count with French people.

Unfortunately you don't. Unless he was one of the unidentified colonists running away from the swarms at the beginning of that mission. Shame too. D:Bwaksson wrote...
I Just remembered. There is a good viking in ME2. He gets abducted by collectors but so what. StenDo you ever get to see him? Need to replay horizon

Admiral Kahoku
Kahoku is more Polynesian than Asian. The guy looks like he has a Pacific tan.
In my post, I said that the list included those that are likely to be part-asian as well.
So, that admit you could be wrong. Kahoku's not Asian dude. Not a lot East Asians are that (naturally) tanned.
Well, are you after Asian in general, or just East Asian? Specify.

Obviously (...hopefully, rather) a little inside joke about how the stereotypical Asian can't dance to save their life. I can vouch for this too, because I'd rather soak my head in urine than have to watch my parents try to dance.

Ah yes, asian people. Humans living on the continent of Euraisa with a love of sea food, dragons, and videogames.

It is the future, you are going to see a lot of mixes. Not surprising seeing as our gene pool has gotten more diverse over the years.
That isn't necessarily true. Places like Asia Africa and Europe aren't going to see much genetic convergence.
Mixes would exist but not on a massive scale
lol seriously have you been to europe lately? you're more likely to find irish in boston than in anywhere in ireland...

I thought I did?
Southeast Asian, but I'm checked by official records as Pacific Islander. Family however is mixed.
Well, no, you keep mentioning that you're Southeast Asian or East Asian but hadn't said that Asians from other parts of Asia didn't count in your tally.
It doesn't matter to me, really. I don't go to the ME universe looking to do a PC check of all the ethnic groups represented. Apparently, there is a lot of that going on here, though, so I'm glad BioWare has represented many groups, just to mute claims of racism.
I'm african-american, there are two african-americans in the game -- including my vanguard shep when I'm using him. I'm glad they are there but it wouldn't break my heart if they weren't. A battle to be fought elsewhere. My two cents. Not telling you how you should feel.

I forgot about Anderson. A worker at Fist's place? Oh yeah, I remember him now. That's ME 1, though. Talking about 2.
Honestly, I don't care. It's enough for me that I can make Shepard black -- with blond hair and green eyes!

Is it necessary to even say other parts of Asia? This thread practically implies Asians from the Orient. If this thread explicitly said every ethnic group in Asia, people would be listing Samesh Bhatia, Khalisah Al-Jilani, David Al-Talaqani, and Zaeed Massani also. And you have an argument that Kahoku could be from other parts of Asia, fine by me.
Now, I'm just tired of this. The guy's an Alliance officer foremost, and shows no peculiar behavior or speech to indicate culture. He could've born on Elysium for all I care. It's just Bioware's way of saying the human universe is more cosmopolitan now than ever.
How does the thread imply this? The thread's title is "Hey Jacob! Do you know any Asians?"
That in NO WAY implies East Asians. You INFERRED East Asians, because that's what you think of when you see the term.

I actually would include all the Arab people on the game as possibly Asian. People have brought up their names. There is at least one person on this thread who has listed Arab as a separate category, though. It just shows that one term can mean different things to different people.
ETA: I hadn't brought this up because of Kahoku. I just wanted to point out that, well, Asians is Asians. It's not fair to say there are none in the game if you're excluding everything but East Asians. If you mean "there are no East Asians" then say that. I have no problem with anyone wanting to point out lack of representation, just say what you mean.
