I replayed ME1 many times, good game. ME2 bleh, already sold my copy. KoToR I still own and play, DA I have played through several times but it gets stale second and third time through, and the acting isn't even that great. Fallout 3 I have played over 500hrs, Oblivion closing in on 300 hours, Morrowind probably has close to 1000 hours logged, and Fable 2 I still boot up at least once a week to F off. All these games bring a lot to the table but $40 just isn't in my price range. Money isn't the issue but for a half or even a third of the game maybe that is where the price point should be. If you get half the content as the full game or half the story it should be $30. If you get a third of the story it should be $20. It is that simple.

In defense of shooters with short campaigns, they tend to have multiplayer. The single player of MW2 may only be 5 hours long, but in total I've still probably spent something like 200 hours online.

This. I have logged more hours in Halo 3, Modern Warfare, World at War, and Modern Warfare 2 than all other RPG's combined that I have played in the last 10 years.

As for Awakenings, I definitely don't have a problem shelling out $40 for it.

Then like you already stated..wait for it to show in the bargain bin.   Will keep your wallet from having a hissy fit.

I personally play 90% RPGs and 10% everything else.  I don't play game to play with other people, I get into stories and that is what entertains me.  Borderlands RPG/Shooter has no story but even it is > than ME2!

Be thankfull that you pay for something that is good, then the endless garbage which has flooded the video game market, and be thankfull your not paying £60+ (if in england) which is almost $90 for a game back in 1991 for the snes.
One video game company that doesn't have a history of making garbage is bioware, so it's simple, don't like, don't buy.

PiMD does have a point though, The game is cheaper to buy in shops than on DLC on xbox marketplace, With DLC you cant re-sell it, You dont get a manuel and a box. Yet its more expensive? doesnt make sense, If anything it should be cheaper than boxed version since we cant sell it 2nd hand so bioware doesnt lose money.
