I played ME1 as a pure Paragon, I tried a Renegade run, but did not like it and ended up Paragade (sort of tough guy with a good heart).

I must admit, even with my Paragon Shep I used quite a few Renegade interrupts in ME2 (killing the Battarian, who works on that ship during Garrus' recruiting mission, killing the merc on Miranda's loyalty mission etc.) My Paragon is nice, but no push over! I did destroy the Collector base and that was not even a difficult decision.

+30 Renegade >:3

Curses! Foiled again! Figures that our peaceful gathering would be interrupted by some dastardly renegade. Oh well, there is but one response for a proper paragon...

"I'm just going going to burn over here. If you want to think we're burning together, go ahead."

Nearly fell out of my chair laughing thanks to you.

On another note.. I'm always playing Paragon, I try to be Renegade but always feel .. well lets just say I wouldn't help me after that jump... except I would.. so never mind Posted Image

I support this topic!!

Yeah...I saved the Council and the Rachni Queen, I destroyed the Collector Base and told the Illusive Man to go jump into a black hole.

And I'm damn proud of it!

Yeah. Even as a full paragon I never pass up the opportunity to pull off that renegade interrupt during the Mordin loyalty mission (I think) where you take out the krogan while he's giving that speech. Sometimes it just feels right.

I did that on reflex...I swear those interrupts...I just hit the button without thinking.

I just don't like doing renegade at all. I get irritated seeing renegade show when I am doing all I can to avoid it.

Paragon 100% and always.

As my Shepard does not like criminals he Renegades them to death (talking about mercs) but his overall actions which shape the galaxy are as ridiculously Paragon as they may be.

I always find that if I want to RP a realistic Shepard, I can't be 100% either. Renegade Shepard wouldn't strangle a baby, I always find myself helping that Batarian in quarantine zone, renegade Shepard might be ruthless but he's no murderer, he IS trying to help people. Same goes for paragon Shepard doing the greater good means that ugly decisions have to be made, like zapping that Batarian working on the gunship.

Of course you can max either with a save game editor!

Playing paragon is great. You get to punch Zaeed in the face, shove a Volus and a C-Sec officer and knock a high one over, shoot at Thanes son, yell some more to Zaeed, save some Geth, yell at Quarians in a speech that makes no sense. I'm sure there are others I am forgetting. But you get a warm and fuzzy feeling and a perfect complexion. And then to top it off you blow up something and tell that Illusive Man just where he can shove it. All with Jennifer Hales awesome, "I'm grumpy because someone woke me up before I was done cooking" voice.

Ha I didn't resist. It's not like you hurt him. When/if they fix that quest I will stop shooting him. Right now I don't see the point. :o

I'm almost fully paragon, the only time I can recall using the renegade interrupt is on Thane's loyality mission where you're trying to get the information from the guy (we were getting nowhere and he did dare me to punch him :P )

You know you want to. Give in to it, give in to... Oh hey, I shot mopey-lizard-sad-faced-assassin-guy's son too.

Actually, sometimes the only thing better than a bullet to the head is a bullet to a non-fatal, yet very painful region of the body. Certainly it has more comedic potential.

Except Verner, if you shot him in the head I highly doubt he, or anyone else, would have noticed.

Do I still count as Paragon with half a renegade bar attached to my full Paragon bar?

Just finished my back-to-back play-through of ME 1 and 2 and I was so Paragon, I was bleeding light-blue out my ears.

I can't play the game as Renegade. No fun for me. Tried it with ME1 .. it's just not who I am.

That said, every now and then a renegade move feels right and appropriate. I ain't no boyscout ... I'm killing people on a daily basis, sometimes hourly. Sometimes you gotta bbq a Krogan when he's spouting his hate speech. Just feels right. :)

One of the reasons I like Mass Effect so much. Paragon or Renegade .. you're not weak ... you're a straight up beast and everyone knows it. Just because you smile and say "thank you" doesn't mean you won't blow the back of someone's head out. :)

Renegade was a decent option in ME1 (still not my thing, though,) but they absolutely ruined it in ME2. In ME1 it was more like Paragon=Lawful Good and Renegade=Chaotic Good, but ME2's renegade is pretty much Chaotic Evil. Renegade Shep in ME2 is cruel, abusive and sadistic. A person like that would not go to any length to save the galaxy, a person like that would side with the Reapers for the opportunity to torture and murder as many innocents as possible.

My Paragon Shep slipped a little from her high moral standards from ME1, but she's still got a solid blue bar and pretty skin.

I didn't think I would like Renegade either, but man, punching that reporter in the face kind of grows on you after you justify it the first time. My Renegade made quite a few Paragon choices, in both games, because sometimes, the Renegade option is just flat out stupid.

Paragon is more of my natural play style, but Renegade is a fun break.

I've done five playthroughs, all Paragon, and the one time I did try to do a Renegade, I couldn't do it because Renegade Shepard is just such an jerk! That said however, I find watching videos of renegade Shepards to be fun, I just don't like doing it myself.

I thought a great line from the game relating to being a paragon came from one of the conversations with Jacob (not sure if I'm quoting this correctly):

Jacob: "It's tough, isn't it Shepard? Being the good guys?"

Shepard: "It wouldn't be the high road if it were easy."

Hands down one of my favourite lines, and probably one of the most telling.

It's hard for me to be pure paragon, but I def make the split 25% ren - 75% paragon.

Sometimes, when the people autthority are being douches, I have to tell them where to go. But my squad, and all the ordinary people in the galaxy, I am true blue!

I played my first playthrough with my "main" utraparagon spacer war hero infiltrator maleShep and quickly maxed out paragon.

For fun, I had my paragon eathborn sole survivor infiltrator femShep choose all the paragon dialogue options but use all the interrupts offered, renegade or paragon alike. Still ended up with a paragon but with about 30-40% renegade.

Conclusion: you can indulge in the interrupts and still remain an overall paragon.
