Heh, one of my Sheps had an "incident" with Jack down in engineering and didn't romance anyone. Still got the scene where Shep looks at Ashley's picture.

I wonder if we'll get any rewards for staying "faithful" to our ME2 LIs by romancing only them.
Best course of action if you want to be absolutely safe would be to replay ME1 and not talk to characters your gender can romance. I'd suggest doing this a couple months before ME3 is released.jtav wrote...
Anyone care to speculate on what kind of cosequences cheating on your LI will have? A few people seem to want drastic ones, but I hope it's limited to being forced to choose and extra dialogue. It is ridiculously hard to stay single in ME1 without metagaming. I'd hate to lose Miranda or Garrus because the game thinks I romanced Ashley or Kaidan when I didn't.
I imagine that staying faithful would avoid the trouble caused by infidelity. More than that, I doubt.Wraith_3 wrote...
Wow after reading this I'm starting to think Liara is the psycho chick, not Jack!
People seem to be mostly concerned with a confrontation between LIs, but what happens if your ME1 LI was Ashley and you stay faithful? Like someone said, to Shepard he was with Ashley the previous day, then he wakes back up. It wasn't two years to him. That's what he was like "Hey Ash, what's up?" So do we get some kind of benefit for sticking with her?
Yea, eventually you get locked into the Ashley romance. There's a point where she asks if you're still interested, and all 3 answers say yes in 3 different ways. ME2 had the right idea where you always had the chance to reject them or stop the romance.Kwom Masbag wrote...
Honestly, for me, having a LI in ME1 wasn't even my choice. Because I'm a Paragon, and such a nice guy, I didn't have the stomach to be rude to Ash simply in order to turn down romance. In fact, in places where Shepard could flirt with Ash, I decidedly chose not to flirt with her. Then on lock down, because I'm not a jerk, I don't let loose at Ash for trying to console me. Ash came onto me, not the other way around. <_<

My point is that Tali's enthusiasm in ME1 is not indicative of her interest in Shepard b/c she reacts the same to both male and female Shepard. Tali was not intended as a romance interest at that time, so I believe you are reading too much into it. Tali's just an enthusiastic gal.
You're free to interpret it how you want though.

I still think it's absurd that after two years of not seeing this character, for Shepard to move on is somehow "cheating".

I think there should be a believable consequence... not just "Oh well... okay choose him/her or me..." or just "I'm out!"... I want Drama... I want tears... I want something believeable!
And it surely was not just a ONS... guess what you all did between the Night before Ilos and the destruction of the Normandy... that wasn't just "Oh well you just defeated everything now go into that system" and *POOF*...

Read your private emails, Ashley refers to "Our Special Night". Yeah, that pretty much equals one nighter. Sorry.

Not really... "Special night" can mean everything... while including a ONS... it can mean just that she appreciates the first night... where they not only got together but Shepard showed her the special N7 Training
She can easily just evolved a romantic side

I admire your optimism. Seriously though, the only way to handle the situation is to get to Ash and Miranda drunk enough that they think they're in college again.
