There are so many good games coming out this year and next year, it's ridiculous. I won't have any extra time to spare sitting around waiting for BioWare's next release.
I'm always interested in new gaming ideas (though my tastes are pretty narrow).

I don't know that you would like the kinds of games I am looking forward to. Keep in mind that I expect no freedom of choice in my games. At least, not all of them.Sylvius the Mad wrote...

My inability to enjoy games that test my physical skill rules out the vast majority of games being published today.

I am also curious about Star Trek Online: though I haven't looked into it much, and a friend of mine whats me to play PkMn Soul Silver, and I am tempted as silver on GBC was my favorite, though those games haven't interested me much in a long time.

Read books. Slowly going through The Divine Comedy atm.
Good luck with that. It took me 6 months to get through it all. I even had to buy a sort of "companion" book to understand it all.
I'll probably play random games or start writing again. I'm in the middle of planning for a novel.

Heh, ya, I know it makes a lot of references to stuff from that time period. That's why my version of the Divine Comedy has footnotes on practically every page that explains what is being referenced or why this was translated this way or why Dante chose certain lines in the poem that refers to other works. Actually enjoying it so far, but I'm still in Inferno.

Resonance of Fate
Heavy Rain
God of War III
Sakura Wars V
Final Fantasy XIII: Versus
Ar Tonelico III
Starcraft II
Diablo III
And of course there are always more that slip my mind.

As much as I love Bioware, I'm going to pass on this game. I refuse to play games that I have to play on other people's time.
Please elaborate.
The problem with MMORPGs is that I cannot conveniently experience all of the content unless I take the time and dedication to work with many other people via a guild. This usually involves doing tedious grinding activities like material gathering, daily quests, running the same instances over and over again in the hopes of something dropping by chance.
It's just an absolute chore. It's like a job except I pay for it rather than getting paid.
I think you should look into TOR if you think that about MMO's. Yes I will agree with you that MOST MMO's require this. WoW being a huge part of that. However The Old Republic is going about it a different way. You wont have to grind to max level each class has his or her own story line and you will NEVER do the same class base story quests with one class as you would with another.
It plays like an single player RPG and you can reach max level by your self. Then if you wish to play with other players you can do that with the end game content. It has end game content, like raids and such, like other MMO's. Also if you want to play with friends through the game you can do quests with them. You can help them with their own class quests or you can do the faction quests (faction quests are quests that everyone on either the Republic or Sith can do. So those quests can may re do on a different class of the same faction).
Also the game is story driven and you make choices like you do in any other Bioware game. If you've played KoTOR I or II then the choices work like that light side points for good, dark side points for bad. Plus you get companions in the game.
Point is you can't say TOR is exactly like any other MMO.

All we have coming out from Bioware is the Firewalker pack for Mass Effect 2 and then after that...nothing, not at least until 2011.
That and all the stuff they have not announced yet for 2010.

Also, HALO Reach out in Sep with Beta testing for MP in May. GOW3 should be out within a year or a little more; should take one wicked top tier and brutal multi-player to the next level. I can't wait to see what Epic has planned for new executions and melee attacks! Always plenty to do for FPS/TPS gun play freaks. MW2, well, enough said.
Since DA:O was my first real RPG, I decided to start ME. Already 10 hours in and if it works out well, then ME2. I'll probably go back, find a copy and play BG (and BG2 if goes well) to even better attune myself to the RPG. Everyone says KOTOR is great, so I may dip a toe there as well.
As it is, I think BW knows full well they have a lucrative francise with DA. It was in development for 5 years, and much follow-on has been done I'm sure, or they are fools (and we know they're not!); plus the engine is already built, and I'll guarantee you'll see more DLC or Expansions out before the the end of the year. They have openly stated two years worth of DLC for DA:O.
No long faces. Keep your heads up and enjoy life!

After I've gotten through several playthroughs of Awakenings, I'll just go back to LotRO and play it until either Guild Wars 2 comes out or we get more Dragon Age DLC - whichever one comes first.
Is LotRO still any good (or good again)? Though you might have always liked it, dunno. I played from launch, then stopped playing a few months after Moria came out the comm started getting kinda weird, it seemed to go through odd phases in player behavior, and auction house quality, the gold spam was getting outta control. Had a level 43 Loremaster and a level 22 Champion, both human, on Arkenstone.
