No you didn't. It's spelled: Teagaaaaahn. Of course, that's only the official Orlesian spelling, mind you.
I hate Isolde. Ha ha.

Leliana says, though, that her mother's employer, the Orlais noble woman, went back to Orlais after the war. And Leliana was born in Orlais, which means she's under 30.Remy LeBeau wrote...
I think Leiliana is in her early thirties. I know in one of the convos she had with Wynne. She says she look older then what she seems to be.

You're right. So she would have to be 28 or 29?

Either way, her accent destroys any sympathy I mght have had for her.

If she was born in Orlais and has only been in Ferelden for two years, I just don't get why she has such a mild accent compared to, say, Isolde who was in Ferelden for at least ten years, possibly more depending on how old Connor is and how long she'd been married prior to his birth. Didn't the codex say something about how her family ruled Eamon's land and she fell in love with him for being a rebel? But then again, Alistair had been with Eamon for a little while before she married him or she wouldn't have thought he was Eamon's...

She should have had a more of Ferelden accent. Then again look how long Schwarzenegger been in the America. His accent have not changed.

Mild accent? you do realise Lelienas accent is authentic right
also accents vary from region to region

Not true. He was so difficult to understand in his first movie, they completely removed his voice and dubbed in a new one.

Althouh if it is the Orlesian EMPIRE there might be some merit in the regional thing.

You're taking about the Hercules movie he did back in 1969? I thought they dubbed his voice because they did not like it. like what did to Mel Gibson for the Mad Max movie.

Leliana's VA is a Frenchwoman who has lived in London for a decently long time, I believe. Presumably her accent has softened.Sarah1281 wrote...
Leliana's VA is French, not Orlesian so it's not really 'authentic' and compared to...pretty much every other Orlesian character in the game, her accent is lightest.

Regarding Leliana, she considers herself a Fereldan, and her mother was presumably bilingual, so her Orlesian accent may not have developed so strongly.

That's not the way I heard the story but, even if it is the case, you can still hear a noticeable difference between, say, the first Conan movie and the way he speaks now. He's definitely held onto his accent, but it has diminished somewhat over the years.

It's been a while since I've seen Conan. I'll have to look at Conan again and maybe, compare it to T2 to tell the difference.

Also, in regards to her voice, I didn't find it gratting at all. In point of fact, Isolde's VA gave one of the best performances in the game. When she see's Jowan free and screams, "You! You did this to Connor!" I was tottaly thinking she was going to grab a blade and go charging. So, anyway, I feel completely in the Minority here...

Hell, during RtO, she even makes Alistair pause for thought when she points out that his somewhat flirty comments might end with him waking up in Her Bed. That, to me, right there says she ain't No Granny.

Oh, come on...It wasn't 'that' bad...
Also, speaking of Teagan, did anyone else think that 'something' was going on between Isolde and Teagan when they first played the game? I was almost certain there was, and that it would come up later that Connor was, in fact, 'Not' Eamon's son; if you get my meaning. I don't know...just always wondered if anyone else saw that...

I don't hate Isolde, either, and think her VA did a good job of conveying a desperate mother. Thought that even more when I took the route of killing Connor.glenboy24 wrote...
Wow...not to completely ostrasize myself, but, am I the 'only' person who owns DA:O who acutally 'likes' Isolde? I found the character really well written and her action really left me torn. I mean, you have the option to either keep your child in a safe and secure enviornment (well, somewhat save, given the events of the game...) or you loose him to a life where he will become isolated from the rest of the world and live in a Gilded Cage watched by Witch Hunters. So, even though her actions ticked me off some due to what it cost so many people, I could still sympathize with her.

It was that bad. I actually cringed when she said it and had to take out my headphones for a minute to recover.
(Not to say I think the VA as a whole is bad- it's quite good. I still end up killing her most of the time, but that's for different reasons...)
And have you not seen all the "Teagann is a player" threads? Yeah, I'd say people who don't think something went on are in the minority. (And not just Isolde, Anora as well. And every other woman in Ferelden, likely.)

Individuals vary on how adaptable their accent is. My FIL has lived in the US for some 40 years, maybe more, but has a pronounced accent. His younger brother came over at the same time, but because he was younger when he started learning English, has no accent at all.Sarah1281 wrote...

It actually fits Leliana's character that she is more adaptable to her surroundings. As a bard, she would have to be.
