I've played through the game just once so far, so I've probably missed a lot of things. But some moments that came upon my mind:

1. HN origin story as a whole (a great introduction to the game [note: haven't played other origins so far]
2. First ogre encounter.
3. When Sten in the cage said  a sentence which is on the top of his codex entry (I do not remember his words exactly) together with the music and whole atmosphere of Lothering.
4.Some of "visual art". I really liked for example Bresilian forest ruins and forest itself, Andraste's temple, Orzammar...
5. Loghain at the Landsmeet. I was really sorry i killed him (and really angry on Allistair...)
6.Initial feeling about "The Unbound" quest when it seemed to be more BG2-like quest. Unfortunately it was quite simple, as other side quests.
7. "The ultimate sacrifice" ending.

Edit: Corrected  "Ogrimmar" -> "Orzammar" :). Hell, I was probably playing WC3 too much...

There are many parts of the game that made me choke with emotion for the characters involved.

The entire story as a whole was outstanding, and the side quests helped to get me more attached to each character while doing the side quests because it added depth to the movie / game.

The side quests that stand out the most for me are Haven and brother ginitivi and his cloned assistant weylan.

Leliana and her beloved mentor to obtain closure of that relationship.

Shale's discovery that she was a female dwarf and obtaining as much of her history that could be had.

Alistair visiting his sister in Denerim.

Dwarf Noble and his Son obtaining a Caste

Ohgren finding out that his Paragon wife was gay as well as driven near madness to obtain the Anvil.

Stens fit of rage that put him in Lothering in a cage.

The list of these side quests could fill a page or 2, great job for having them.

The 2 funniest moments for me in the entire game was the banter between Morrigan and Sten about his nuzzling (LOL)... and the other was in Orzimmar the castless guy that stands next to the Nugs in Dustown, his comments about Falling UP. ( LOL ) man i loved those, i beg for more humor like that.

The battle at Ostagar, that movie was nothing short of amazing to me, I had to play again to save the game just prior to the battle so I could watch it over and over, and I saved the game again just before the battle with the archdemon too, so that I could replay it as much as I wanted =).

The Download Content for the Wardens Keep was a tad dissapointing only in that I expected the interior of the fortress to be cleaned up and still explorable while Avernus may have been locked in his Tower for research to redeem himself and I realy expect something to come out of the mercy I gave and spared his life.

Funny, Romantic, Tear jerking, and Heroic..Possibly the best game I have played in many years.

Moments/events:
- Buffing up the defences of Redcliffe.
- The landsmeet and gaining the support of the nobles prior to it.
- Adventures in the fade (though they could be tightened up a bit).
- The banter! I love it! All of it! Each and every time it occurs!
- Getting imprisoned in Fort Drakon. It was something completely unexpected for me, and thus very much appreciated. I loved how I got to use my party in order to save the PC. I'd like the sequel to have more of these kinds of moments, where we get to use solely our party members while our PC is preoccupied with something else!

This too lol, oh i'm so lazy i know

Standout Moments

- Entire Ostagar sequence
- Leliana's Song. While the execution may not have been the 100% perfect, I like the idea
- Jail break sequence
- Landsmeet sequence

Things I Would Love To See

- The year is 2010. I don't just want to read about Andraste and her march on the Tevinter Imperium, I want to see it. A little 2 minute flashback cutscene would have really served the game well, in my opinion. This pretty much goes for anything regarding important parts of history.
- Not original, but I would really like to go to Orlais. Even better would be if Leliana would accompany me

This was heartbreaking in a BAD way - was hoping to get to muck about endlessly in Warden's Keep (cf. Suikoden series) and was suddenly booted out.

I hate going back and reading threads like this 'cause it gives me about a thousand "ME TOO!!!" type responses.

But man, I completely forgot about bringing back the gryphons.  My own insane fan wish/want/theory is that's what Fiona's been up to at Weisshaupt... that aside, they really need to come back, somehow.

I would say my most memorable events from the game came from the last leg of the Paragon of Her Kind quest when you actually go in search of Branka. That whole experience just exuded darkness and dread, with a conclusion that matched the journey. Exploring the Deep Roads, searching through lost dwarven thaigs, fighting through Bownammar, learning the truth about what happened to Branka and her house, the Broodmother, the truth behind the Anvil...it was an amazing experience. I felt much like Cpt. Willard in Apocalypse Now, floating up the Nung river searching for the infamous Colonel Kurtz...

It was also gratifying b/c i felt like I was finally taking the fight to the darkspawn, rather than just reacting to them.

I suppose what I would like to see expanded upon the most is the situation with the Elves. I felt really bad for them (especially city elves) and would love to help them reclaim their former glory, or at least help them throw off the yoke of human oppression. I would like to know more of the details surrounding the fall of Arlathan and the Dales, and elven history and culture before they lost their homelands.

I'd also like to see some of the questions answered that were raised during the Dalish origin quest and the Brecilian Forest Ruins in the Nature of the Beast quest.

One other big thing that really piqued my curiosity was pretty much everything surrounding the Old Gods, the Black City, the origins of the Darkspawn, etc. I have a feeling, however, that these things will definitely be explored later, though.

I also wouldn't mind seeing more of the Qunari and learning more about them, maybe even exploring their home islands in the north.

Running into Tamlen at the Gauntlet. That blew my mind. I wonder if any of the other responses would have resulted in other things happening. As it was, I sincerely regretted leaving him and not spending more time looking for him, which I told the Guardian, and then Tamlen. I received an item as a result.

His subsequent appearance at the camp was, while tragic, not quite as unexpected.

The events that struck me the most:

1. Leliana's song...not just the song itself, but the little shots of Morrigan and Sten reacting to it. It really made me want to talk to those two especially some more, but bah...I had already pretty much exhausted all their dialogue.

2. When you're rescuing Anora and you are confronted by Cauthrien. You're like "a ha, we're saving Anora..go on, tell 'em!" And she's all "omg they're kidnapping me!" and you're like "YOU B*TCH!" I think I actually shouted that. So many unpredictable developments, but this one caught me by surprise the most, I think.

3. Killing Flemeth. I wasn't exactly a fan of her, but still it was weird to go back for the specific purpose of killing someone who saved your life. That my character was romancing Morrigan made it all the more poignant...like his love of her made him do things he probably normally wouldn't.

4. After sparing Loghain, the verbal beating Alistair gives you. And the worst part is, it's a totally legitimate position, despite all the reasons for sparing Loghain. Trying in vain to figure out what dialogue choices could possibly mend what you've done, and failing, even after killing the Archdemon, is really heartwrenching. Friendship vs. Duty.

5. The Dark Ritual. As I said above, I romanced Morrigan in my "canon" playthroughs, and I got a similar feeling as I did with Alistair. Just realizing that nothing you can say will change her mind, and that no matter which choice you make you'll lose Morrigan, was an intense moment. So much is unknown about what the ritual actually IS, and what will happen to the child and Morrigan after, and so forth, that you just have to go on your feelings and how much you trust her.

6. The Ultimate Sacrifice. I'd never played another game where you can actually sacrifice yourself. I even spared Loghain that playthrough, but I couldn't bring myself to ask someone else to die for me, so I did it. That was so amazing.

7. On the US playthrough, I romanced Leliana, and her actions afterward were possibly the saddest thing in the whole friggin' game.

8. Wynne. I never really paid much attention to her until my most recent playthrough, and wow. Something about her makes my character just want to bare his soul and spill his innermost thoughts. Maybe it's the fact that she's the one who asks you the most about your character. Everyone else mostly talks about themselves aside from one or two quick little questions they barely acknowledge before going back to talking about themselves. Maybe it's the fact that I played a City Elf, whose mother died when he was very young. I just wish there were a moment in game where you could just give her a hug. Image IPB

Things I'd like to see:
1. Morrigan and the baby! This must have a conclusion (preferably a good one)!
2. Most of the companions, if not all. It would be cool if each one had a continuation of their personal quest.
3. Orlais/Val Royeaux (by far the location I most want to visit, preferably with Leliana) Image IPB
4. Antiva/Antiva City
5. Par Vollen
6. I want the Origins to continue to have a large impact on the story, and not just fade into the background. I want to go back to the Alienage and see how Shianni and the gang are doing. Or better yet, try to make some sort of difference there and see if the boon I requested (getting the Alienage a Bann, and suggesting Shianni for the job) has had an effect.

My stand out moments were:

The battle of Redcliff. Preparing for the battle and having my decisions affect the battle.

The Landsmeet same thing. Much like how the trial in Neverwinter Nights 2 was one of the best parts of the game(the best part of that being Crossroad Keep)

The ending was handled really well. Mass Effect and Dragon Age had the most satisfying endings in games I've played.

For me, being an elf and being dumped by Alistair just after making him king. His reason, that he needs to find a woman to bear him a heir, are legitimate but it tore my heart out. I didn't expect it.

I want to go to the warden's main fortress - the one we see in the Fade.

Oh, this is a hard question because there is so much within the game and lore to try and understand. I have read the two books on the game "The Stolen Throne" and "The Calling" so I have many questions for these areas:

1. How did King Maric actually die or is he actually dead?

2. Yes, what happened to Fiona, Alistair's real mother? Is this why Alistair was called away from his love to go to Weisshaupt fortress to see his real mother or is Wynne his real mother in disquise?

3. Why did Loghain allow Calian's death at Ostagar, when Calian was the son of Queen Rowan, the true love of Loghain's life? I have a funny feeling Anora pited both men against each other and she wanted her father dead as well. I hate that woman and Goldanna. But according to the book Goldanna wasn't actually Alistair's sister. Duncan was the only one who really knew who Alistair's real mother was/is. When the line came up that Wynne had a son, I was like is she really Fiona in disquise? Then Alistair's sock comment in her bedroll still has me asking questions on this. Then I'm blown away again when I played through Return to Ostagar and those strange comments between Alistair and Wynne. Creepy?

Thus far the emotional and hardest moment has been when Alistair gives his life to save his love. This just happened to me on my last play through and that was hard to take. My heart dropped into my stomach, and his dumping you as his love. As a woman that was gut wrenching.

I found the broadmother very disturbing but even so, how does this process occur? Will we see this process happen? Also, the codex entries on how the golems were actually made. After I read that I was sick to my stomach.

Who or what is Flemeth actually and why was Morrigan so certain she would return and of course like everyone else, the essence of the old god child. Whose is Morrigan's real father? Why was Flemeth's book at the circle tower, how did it get there? Why does the first enchanter have urns in his circle tower study the same as the ones as Andraste's Ashes are in? Was Andraste an actual mage as one of Wynne's book gifts hinted at?

Will we find more on our journey's and future battles and conflicts on what really happened to elves and their history. Help the dwarves reclaim more of their thaigs and uncover more lore and history there. In honesty, I don't care where you take me, just bring all original origin stories to a conclusion before you take me on my next journey, just give credibility to move the story or stories forward. Just answer some of the unanswered questions and I'll be happy. I want to see everything and of course run into old party members. Is Wynne ever going to get her wish and finally die? It's getting old on several playthroughs to hear her deathwish over and over again. I like Wynne, but it's getting old.

I really, really, really want to kick the Templars between the legs and free the mages. The templar VS. mage stuff always made me really angry. It would be awesome if I could totally free mages from the templars and apostates cease to be apostates so everyone can study magic in peace!!! Under me! muwahaha...

I MUST see where Morrigan's story goes. Something as massive as her god baby would not go unfinished.

I got the conversation with Wynne saying she was taking Shale to try and change her to a human and I felt all fuzzy inside. I made Shale want to be human!!! Can you believe it? I want to see if that ever happens. Well, she'd probably become a dwarf.

I want Leliana to be my bestest friend again and I really want her story to be expanded upon. Despite her tendency to be a little on the pushy side with her religion, she was one of the mos outstanding characters in the game.

The Landsmeet was an incredible moment. There were so many outcomes that I practically wet myself, lol. Almost every origin and and the two genders had the landsmeet ending in at least 10-15 different ways. Insain!

I didn't find much about the Dalish too interesting. The only words they spoke in Elvish were... well, I forgot but they were a little lame and never sounded real, like a real language would.

I found the dwarven cities amazingly interesting. There was so much to do in Orzammar, it was great. I want to see how putting Bhelen on the throne affects the dwarven kingdom.

I want more Allistair! That guy is awesome. He's hilarious and he kicks *** a lot. I married him with one of my female accounts so I want to see where that goes in the future. This ties in with Morrigan's god baby that she's having somewhere in... someplace.

There's a lot more I could say, but I've a lot to do so...

Oh yeah, I love the party banter! I want more and more and more and more. That made the characters so much more real to me. There were so many conversation possibilities! I like to talk to people in Dragon Age.

Yeah, instead of editing my last post I made a new one =P

Ok, just thought of something else. Will we get to see a battle between the dwarves and the templars over Brother Berkel's death? The chantry is thinking of marching on the dwarves over that one.

In the human noble story and finally getting the chance to kill Howe for killing my family, I was loving every slash I was giving him.  In one play through, Alistair killed him and I reloaded to do it myself and told my party to hold so I could finish him.  It was hard to keep my cool when Logain and Howe came to talk with the Arl before the landsmeet.  I also enjoyed killing Loghain's captain and reading my codex entry on that.  Made my day.  She didn't know spit about Grey Wardens.  She didn't have the backbone to stand up to Loghain, she was a wimp in my book.

I hated Goldanna with a passion.   Dang Al, please let me cut her tongue out.  Please, pretty please!  It was a hard choice to kill Flemeth, I felt bad about that.  Branka, I need more information on what really happend there with her whole house and the broadmother thing.

DA:O takes a player on an emotional roller coaster ride that is for sure and I haven't seen all endings and all story lines yet.  The game has a way of gut punching you with your choices.

I don't mind spoilers and some endings I already know are going to happen.  Reading about them and actually seeing them happen in the game are two different things.

Also, gotta have more Alistair, love that guy.  Love the dog, but am disappointed I am forced to take him to complete his buff quest on final onslaught.  I did take him on one final battle and was impressed Wynne only had to revive him a couple of times.  My dog wasn't afraid of the Archdemon.  I built the dog to be as strong as Alistair or Sten.  I was disappointed with no dialogue option for the dog at the end, what happens to the dog if I die.  Will Sten take him or Alistair?  I got into a situation in the tower of Ishal where Alistair is dead with the orge battle, I'm fighting for my life, and the dog kills the orge.  I actually laughed.  I couldn't believe it.  I had to heal myself and the dog killed the orge.  That was awesome.

Somehow during this play through I finished last night I was all set up to kill myself and somehow I made the wrong dialogue options and Alistair took the fall, I actually yelled NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO at my computer screen.  I was shocked.  I didn't intend to unlock this achievement with Alistair but was planning to do this with Loghain.  I was shocked then mad. No way to reset those achievements.  I was actually horrified.   Once again playing as Alistair's love interest, never got the dump scene before and I was shocked how I ended this.

As a woman playing a female love interests and getting Alistair's dump scene is right down brutal and right in front of your entire party.  No comment, no reaction from the other members.  He forces you to make a decision between him and Zev and then he dumps you.  Not even a wise crack from Morrigan in that cut scene.  Stone cold brutal and for me thus far the most standout.  He doesn't even ask to speak with you in private.  I was shocked at my reaction to that scene as a woman and I'm betting I'll have a difficult time with the city elf story line, which I haven't played through.

Also, finding Sandal in Fort Drakon, my first play through I almost cried.

Also, I was totally unprepared for the my first Gaxkang battle.  That blew me away.

Man, it's tough to choose, because there were a whole lot of standout moments for me. Every one of the party members were good, but standouts for me include Leliana, Sten, Shale, and Loghain. The romance with Leliana was very endearing, and her sidequest was interesting. Also she has a nug named shmooples. It was great fun to watch Sten soften ever so slowly towards the main character, and Shale was a great combination of humorous dialogue and an incredibly interesting backstory and sidequest. And the complexity of Loghain's character was incredibly fun to witness.

As far as other story elements go, the Dalish quest was great, as you slowly uncover just what actually caused the curse. In the ending where Zathrien and the Lady of the Forest lift the curse, I was quite sad to see the two characters go, as both were very interesting. Also, the bit with Hespith, Branka, and the Broodmother was fantastically creepy. Very memorable, and I hope to see more creepy wierdness in the future.

And, although it was a small bit, I liked the end of the harrowing, when you find out that Mouse was a demon, and it gives you a final warning before disappearing. It actually gave me shivers.

The fade and spirits are both good concepts, and ones I would like to see more of in the future. I'd also like to see Shale again, perhaps after finding away to become mortal again. I'd rather not see the character vanish from possible sequels just because she was a DLC character. Apart from that, I'd just like to see more of the world and the history, as it's very fascinating. Oh, and some of the mysteries of the past, such as where darkspawn came from, and Arlathan.

Wow, that was longer than I expected.

What really struck me as special about DAO was the religions--all of them, including Dalish and Q'unari.  What was done with each was really good, and all of them left me wanting more.  I don't think any game I have played can touch the complexity, diversity, and believability (one can imagine a religion like that would catch on!) of DAO.  So please continue to develop these.

As to what moved me--a huge plus and huge minus.

The plus:  Loghain is a truely great and interesting character--and the scene in the Landsmeet was sensational.  (Anora isn't bad either.)  Now I interpret Loghain as neither a simple hero (he saved the country by retreating!) or a simple villain (he wanted to rule!) but as a complex character--ulitmately wrong in my view--who was trying to do what he thought best for his country.

On the other hand, great fantasies need great villains.  The archdemon wasn't.  The archdemon just doesn't come across even as having a personaliity, and isn't even particularly tough--all this fuss over that???

The final battle was epic...but the Archdemon fight seemed a bit anticlimactic. The part where the Archdemon flies away and bombards you with spirit tornados while the darkspawn attack you was kind of lame and took away from the fight. It would have been really cool if the darkspawn poured through the doors while you fought the Archdemon and you had to divide and manage your forces (including troops) in a more strategic way.

A few cutscenes during the fight with scripted events and consequences depending on who you take with you would have been cool too. For example, Sten being overwhelmed by darkspawn and unable to assist for the remainder of the fight or Zevran knocked off the roof by a tailswipe and landing on an unseen ledge.

The inclusion of intentional gay romance (and/or some bed shaking via the brothel) was a HUGE thing to gays such as myself.

Too often developers, or their money line - the producers, either pull any intended gay themed events or they turned straight but confused, or what have you. I had no idea of this content when I bought DA:O but was very happy and thankful to experience it.

Thanks for taking the risk, I hope no-one pulls your spine out in future releases.

The Chantry has a lot of power. There are many moments where this is made abundantly clear, but the one that sticks out in my mind is when you talk to Alistair in camp about how they use Lyrium to addict Templars to keep them loyal and in line. For obvious reasons, this angers me greatly. A religious organization using addiction to keep it's military power. I want to know why the Chantry does this, how it all started, and when they lost (or if they ever had) their moral compass.

Aside from that... Every conversation I've ever had with Sten. I want to go to the Qunari lands, learn everything there is to know about their culture- date a couple of their women- and see one of their festivals.

Also, where did Heren meet Wade? Who really wears the pants in that relationship? Their banter is interesting.

The most random defining moment was probably talking to that one Orlesian chick in the Derneim Marketplace. She was raped by chevaliars, because they have the right. I have a bone to pick with them, and any government that allows such behavior, and would very much like the chance. Aside from that, they're supposed to be some of the finest warriors in existence- I want to test that.

The Chantry bit, though, is more important. They have a much larger reach, and I smell corruption that digs deep.

EDIT: Oh - I forgot about the Prison Escape sequence. Once in a while, it's nice to be reminded that I'm not invincible, no matter how facerollingly strong my character gets he is still mortal. And that fight with Ser Cauthon (sp) was just the ego-popper my first character needed. Aside from that, I like having my gear stripped from me and being placed into a difficult situation where you can't rely on your collection of artifacts to save you. Honestly, I'd love another sequence like that, only... I want to have to work a lot harder to get my gear back than pick lock/ punch guard/ back to faceroll. Although the choice between escaping myself, or having a couple friends do the whole under-cover thing was awesome.

All the moments which dealt with politics were amazing and future dragon age games should give us the same oppurtunity to feel powerful and important, as well as giving us the chance to seize power.

Orzammar- it was morally grey and choosing the new king always took some serious thinking

The landsmeet- the amount of character development and action in this section is nothing short of stunning

In short i want to see more politics and more intrigue, oppurtunities to play as an Orlesian or tevinter noble would be particularly interesting.

A couple of things that jumped out at me:

Who are the Red Jenny Seekers? They kind of sound like a rival assassin band, and if so, it would be very interesting not only to get more info on them, but how they interact with the Crows.

Also, I want to learn more about Grey Wardens in other countries: how they operate, do, how they are treated, their relationship with their countries, etc. Especially in Orlais, Antiva, and the Anderfels.

For in game moments I still keep coming back to meeting the ogre at the top of the Tower of Ishal, when it caught my character in a grab attack. I just had to sit back and watch it pommel him to snail-snot all the time thinking just how awesome this was and would the rest of the game match up to this - and boy did it surpass all expectations.

Funniest moment must be exiting the Proving Grounds in Orzammar when all of a sudden Leliana has a fit of the giggles and starts to tease Sten by calling him a big softy as she'd spotted him picking flowers in camp that morning.

Love to learn more about the Qunari though not set in Par Vollen, how about their original homelands further across the Amaranthine Ocean.
