I wanna know more about the Chantry's magic usage for one :) It was barely hinted at by Alastair, but I think there's some meat on the bones there. Some more experience with lyrium deprived templars would've been cool. Now I think about it... Everything Chantry I want more of :) I would've loved an origin story from the Chantry :) (You can't tell from the fact I'm working on a mod all about the Chantry :))

I wanna know more about Leliana. :( I kept talking to her to find out more and she only had her stories :(

Wait, standout <emp>moments</emp>?

Battle of Denarim. Really had me excited in the lead up. Just before that, I thought the Morrigan choice was the hardest choice I had to make in the game.

I may be the only person who wants <emp>less</emp> of the Deep Roads. They were a cool story, but in-game, they were just repetitive caves and I couldn't wait to go in. I've still not done Shale's quest because I couldn't stay there any longer... HOWEVER one of my favourite things in the game was the creepy rhyme about Broodmothers and learning about them, so meh! :)

Finally, I'll say meeting Riordan. It was only a brief scene but after being all alone with my friends, it was amazing to see a Grey Warden, after all this time. Someone who knew what was going on, could fight for themselves and wasn't reliant on me. (The fact that meeting him happens just after he escapes from prison entirely on his own, aids this.) Again, in contrast, I hope I'm not going to be surrounded by Wardens in Awakening. I'll lose my sense of importance if I am :)

Not everyone. I don't,
it's because I don't think Morrigan is actually interesting and never
accepted her "help". I would love to get more information about the Qun though. Sten's interesting as is their philosophy.

As for entertaining moments, I have to say Hespith, and her rhyme.

I liked everything about how the character of Flemeth was presented. How the legend contrasts with the woman we actually meet. And all the ambiguity in what she says, and in her relations with Morrigan... Plus, she had a good sense of humor ... you really need that if you're living in Ferelden.

Not Origins, but I have to say something about this (w/out spoilers of course).

Justice. Bring him back in the future.

I have to say he's one of the most interesting characters/concepts I've seen in a while. I feel what little time he had in Awakening was not enough to troughoutly explore him. But then again, I feel the same way about most of the companions in both Origins and Awakening.

There were so many fantastic moments in the game. Picking out a few..

1. Leliana's song - wonderful enchanting song!

2. Absolutely enjoyed the conversations Oghren and Zev have with Wynne. Hilarious!

3. Orzammar! The strict religion of the dwarves and the way things go haywire if you support the quest for the chantry. The sadness of their caste politics. The concept that the LOD are their line of defense, but are all outcastes.

Really curious about Orlais and the Tevinter Imperium.

A bit of things I always asked myself :

- Andraste... where was she born. It is largely said that it was in a quarter of Denerim, but it's also said she was born in Jader, if I am not wrong. So, the 100% reliable source (the writers), what can you say. Where WAS Andraste really born?

- Some interesting doubts were done with the small boy in Lothering. He said his father went to the Neighbor. Is it possible that this neighbor was the one farmhold that Sten slaughtered? If this is the case, is the little boy completely orphan?

- The fate of the other Origins PCs. We know every fact has happened, even if we chose another Origin. For example, if we haven't played the human noble origin, we know that Howe would still get the title of Teyrn of Highever. So I ask myself : what happened to the mage origin PC if we haven't played through it? We know that the dalish elf origin leads to the would-be PC's death most likely, same with the city elf (since Soris is imprisoned) and Dwarf commoner (which is said he stopped eating one day). Dwarf noble is confirmed by the folks in Orzammar that it happened, since it is said there were 3 brothers in the Aeducan family. Human noble we hear of nothing. Never. But it could be possible that the sick mabari in Ostagar is the one of the Human Noble. If so, then I guess the HN character was sent with Fergus, and possibly the Teyrn remained back to rule... So, having these two origins answered would be lovely...

- Jowan : how the hell he escapes from the circle of Magi's tower. He heads for the front gate. But does he take control of four grown men (templars) to open the gate? How does he then escapes through the lake?

That's all I can think of now... will post again if I know anything...

your opinion u didnt romance morrigan so u dont want to see god child but those who romanced her want to see what the god  child looks like

P.S. I wonder if the darkspawn find the god child can they somehow make him an archdemon?

There are a lot of good things that stood out to me that I was greatly interested in, to name a few:

1) probably the creepiest part of the game, game me goosebumps, was the child in Haven who was rhyming in the field "Come, Come Bonnie Lynn..." that was a WTF moment for me, and more creepy than the possessed children. Also male priests of the Chantry (such as in Haven), and more on that would be interesting.

2) Speaking of the Chantry, when Alistair during the Mage play through at the end, releases the Mages guild from the Chantry. How the Chantry outside of Ferelden will take that news would be interesting.

3) Morrigan and her child, another stand out moment, especially if you are romantically involved with her. How that plays out would be interesting.

4) Alistair mention of Duncan coming from Highever, and possibly visiting and erecting a statue or something.

5) The Demon that announces "there is no Maker." or something to the effect, that put an interesting twist into the religion of the Maker.

6) The Elven gods I felt were not really developed much, probably because I never played as a Dalish, but I would be interested about them.

Thats about it for now.

Speaking as someone who was romantically involved with Alastair, it was a stand-out moment then too :). I kinda wanna see how cheerful she is if it's the Secret Companion she's with instead :D

 Standout moments for me:

Zevran - his entire character development and in-party travelling dialogue. Even better when he is romanced. Of the Zevran moments though (outside of romance where there are several great moments) it was his time in the Fade, in Lost in Dreams, that I won't forget in a hurry.
Master Ignacio invited my PC to go to Antiva and meet with the Crows. My PC really, really wants to travel to Antiva with Zevran to fight for control of the Crows and/or the throne.

Dog joining me on the road. That was touching and although I rarely used Dog after the early game, my PC always petted him on return to camp. The imprinting worked two ways ;)

Sten talking to Dog. I'd like to know more about the Qunari and their lore. Going back with Sten is an endgame option and I would like to do this.

Loghain accepting execution. I had to replay the game to watch for clues to Loghain's character and complicity in the events that unfolded just so I knew if he deserved to die. I've never been able to kill him since. His character development is superb.

Walking into the Dalish Camp while playing the Dalish Elf Origin. More than any other origin, this one made me feel recognised and welcomed.

The life gem in the ruins of the Nature of the Beast quest. This was poignant and made me yearn for a Tardis to take me back to the past to explore the world of the early Arcane Warriors. It would be great to see Arlathan lore expanded.

Farewell at the gates during the siege of Denerim.

Landsmeet - the battle of wills was just as enjoyable as combat.

Realising that despite his avowed dedication to duty (including the dialogue response to "what happens if we leave?") Alistair will ignore his responsibilities as a Grey Warden if he doesn't get his revenge-by-execution of Loghain.

The cutscene of the funery boats at Redcliffe, which made me ponder the actions of Isolde and whether Loghain was right to be worried about Arl Eamon's Orlesian sympathies. (I killed Isolde in every playthrough since I first saw that scene).

There were several other standout moments of slightly less import - Leiliana's song was moving, the battle at the bridge in the Deep Trenches was my favourite battle. Poignancy of the Lady of the Forest situation. The epilogue was also a standout as resolving loose ends while leaving others with intimations that those storylines might be further developed is great.

I'd like to see further development of companion storylines. Those companions came to life through the game and I hope we get the chance to visit their lands and continue our friendships and romances. If time moves on I wouldn't mind playing on as the child of my PC and his/her love interest.

Also - although not part of the core game - Shale deciding that being soft and squishy didn't mean being weak. I'd like to see Shale back as a character, following her transformation back to a dwarf. She spent so long without a gender that she would make a great bi-sexual love interest. A Dwarven love interest was missing in Origins (what self-respecting Dwarf would get it on with a human or elf - ewww!)

It would be cool to travel to Tevinter to meet up with Shale again.

One final request, which is related to my post above:

In the Dalish Elf Origin the mother is missing. If Zevran's mother was this missing Dalish then another Elven love interest would need to be included in future expansions of the game. Elves must stick with their own kind and, so far, Zevran is the only possible romance for an Elf sticking to his/her origin. I'm not sure Bioware intends to go down the incest route but this is a dark fantasy so you never know.

One of the most memorable moments were punching out the Arl's wife and killing their child. That was a very brutal part of the game that i enjoyed and remembered. I would like to know what would happan to the player in the future if they made a bet with the demon and conner later on became possessed.

Of course I enjoyed the whole game,

Shales dialog was always fun, although sometimes it seemed his comments were an afterthought i.e. added after the product was finished... a bit out of place.

Morrigans difficulties understanding common human dealings " whats with all the touching?! I find it offensive!"
All of Morrigans dialog

every opportunity to slay a npc in cold blood... guard at the begin of invansion of the arl of denerims estate /city elf origin story.

Slaying Nadezda in Dust town,

Defiling regious artefacts ie andrastes ashes
all opportunites to be a real bastard.
telling brother geneviti i defiled the ashes and his response was classic "you...rr a monster!

Being overrun at the tower of ishal after lighting the beacon was a great twist. suprising shocked

Duncans death and logains betrayal were equally jaw dropping. I loved it...no storybook ending here.

The begin scene of the battle at ostagar epic as well as introduction to the final battle...

Shocked and in disbelief that Morrigan abandoned the party after her request to perform the ritual is denied.
Truly saddened by that... a good thing.

All the difficult decisions that are forced onto the PC morrigans ritual etc.

getting to know the culture of ferelden/thedas specifially the chantry and its oppressive treatment of mages... reminds me of the paranoid behaviour of the roman catholic church during the spanish inquisiton.

all historical references and lore that allows you interact with the world in an intimate manner...

I really want to see Antiva based on the description, with some nice subterfuge political RP involving the Crows.

The nature of the Grey Wardens throughout the rest of Thedas. There is considerable discussion in the game about how Grey Wardens are supposed to be above politics, yet they also discuss how powerful the Wardens are in the Anderfels. Also now Ferelden potentially has a Warden King & Queen depending on the origin story, would be nice to see how the rest of the world deals with that.

Also, anything that brings back Alistair and/or Morrigan is a plus. Actually anything that brings back any of the DA:O characters is a plus.

I really liked the way religion was handled in the game. After all the DnD games, it's highly refreshing to play a fantasy RPG where the existence of gods is not a fact. However, while the Chantry is a powerful force for the religious in the DA world, there's no representation for atheists. It would be cool if they had a louder voice within Thedas. For example, there could be an organised group of people researching Andraste and producing evidence that she was merely a powerful mage, or trying to find out how the darkspawn were really created.

The theme of never knowing if the source of <insert miracle here> was magic, coincidence or actually divine. Far far better than the typical looney toon fantasy.

The blind templar aleinage short story executed this very well.

For myself, it may be easier to list the moments that were not impressive. So in the interest of brevity, I will attempt to keep this requested list restricted in length.

* The Character Origins - these brief stories not only entertained, but helped add motivation to the individual created characters. I was especially pleased with both Dwarven stories, as well as the Human Noble background. Major kudos here! I missed this in Awakenings, but I only just started, so more may come later.

* Cutscenes - works of art and wonder; very memorable.

* Mini-Quests - I especially liked the encounters that were unique, such as saving the refugees. I have caught myself replaying this one in order to try and save as many as possible.

* NPC dialogue - the humor continues to be the Standard I hope to see in a Bioware game. I actually let Zev live and join forces with most campaign encounters due to his use of disarming wit.

* Loghain - I never expected to allow this NPC live past Landmeet in any replay, but I am so glad I did at least once. The insight to this character surpasses the usual Black Hat boss seen in many stories.

* VO - the voices for Flemeth, Morrigan, and Sten were especially captivating for myself. I cannot imagine anyone else for these roles.

* The betrayal at Ostagar - never saw that coming on my way upward to the tower summit.

* Included death blow animations - for a non-twitch Player, seeing these for my RPG characters were especially sweet as I cannot gain them in many other games due to my own lack of skill. Now I am known to steal the kill from many of my fellows so I can watch these feats of daring in slow-mo!

Maybe I will add more later....

-The political tension between Ferelden and Orlais stood out to me. Bringing nationalism into the picture opens tons of doors for back story, and future plots.

-Enslavement of the elves. The whole racial situation between elves and humans had me wondering how long ago humans deemed it "okay" to keep elves as slaves.

This thread seems to have taken a turn away from what was initially intended, but is still productive, and a great topic.

What really stood out for me, was the landsmeet. When you are faced with the decision of letting Loghain live, or executing him...it summed up everything about Dragon Age. Your decision has a huge impact here. You just bested one of Ferelden's greatest war heroes, and he's at your mercy. The man has been trying to kill you since he found out you lived through Ostagar, where he killed your leader, who was the father figure to the only other Grey Warden you knew, Alistair. Killing Loghain feels right, most of us saw him dead. But if you choose, it goes far deeper than that, when you let Alistair strike the killing blow.

That whole segment was amazing, you could take 75% of the action out of the game, and fill it with moments like that, and you would never hear me complain. I feel that Awakening really captured some of that with the Arl of Amaranthine sessions, where you settle disputes and such. Feeling like YOU, the player, are truly having an impact. Thats what stood out to me the most.
