I am not able to start ME2. PC is about 6 months old with 291 GB of free memory after loading the game. My OS is Windows 7.  I have tried to go to EA's Tech Support, but when the page opens, IE crashes and I am unable to send them an email. My computer closes the page and IE, and I am stuck. Tried to send them an email, but got a message that the email address doesn't accept incomming messages. Do they have a phone number I could call\\\\?  This hasn't happened on any other website I've visited.
I bought ME2 Collectors Ed.. When I try to start the game I get a windows error message that it was unable to start the game. I tried halting my virus protection program, but no help.
I am 61 years old and not very computer savvy. I also have bad eyesight and find reading small fonts difficult.
The game was purchased and downloaded from the discs.
Thank you in advance for any assistance.Image IPB

291GB of ram... what?? think you read it wrong.
Post complete specs, including CPU/RAM/Video card/PSU/Win7 32 or 64, with driver version.

IE sucks, uses a different browser.

No, it's right. This is an HP Dv6 Pavillion, and I purchased it with extra memory. (452 GB) I bought it with 6 gigs of RAM.

As far as the video card, I don't know how to find that information. It is an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Win 7 64.

Extra memory? You mean a bigger harddisk, which is pretty irrelevant for running the game. You only need the space to install the game and a bit extra for the cache files. Even with just 20GB space left it would be the same experience. With a bigger harddrive you can store much, but games won't run better.

Your videochip on the other side is very important. What exactly is the name of your laptop? There are several DV6 laptops from Hewlett Packard. It should have a more specific model name.

Found your laptop. And i found your problem. Your laptop does not meet the system requirements.

This is your videochip:
Video Graphics Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD

These are the system requirements for videocards:
* NVIDIA GeForce 6800 or better with 256 MB of video memory
(7300, 8100, 8200, 8300, 8400, and 9300 are below minimum system requirements)
* ATI X1600 Pro or better with 256 MB of video memory
(HD3200, and HD4350 are below minimum system requirements)

NOTES: For the best results, make sure you have the latest drivers
for your video and audio cards.

Laptop or mobile versions of the above supported video cards
have not had extensive testing and may have driver or other
performance issues. As such, they are not officially supported
in Mass Effect 2.

Intel and S3 video cards are not officially supported in
Mass Effect 2.

To bad you have a laptop, you can't change the videochips there.

Common knowledge is that if the built-in isnt nVidia or ATI, it has no chance at running a 3d heavy game. Intel is getting better with their chips but are still a ways off... Reminder to people with laptops, make sure you get nVidia or ATI...
