I have not had any problems with ME2 prior to a couple of days ago.  I started ME2 up like normal and from there it ran through the normal cinematics for BioWare and EA.  On the entry screen that shows the title and says to "Press any key to continue", I simple hit a key or mouse-click to proceed to the next screen but then the screen fades to black and crashes.  I am not sure what happened because nothing changed on my computer from the last time I played it.  If worse comes to worses I'll reinstall and hopefully be done with it, it just urks me that it's crashing for 'no' reason.
And no, my computer doesn't have an 'any' key :P.

Thank you for any assistance

Reapply the patch and see if it works. if not then reinstall and reapply.

If you get more problems later have a look here: http://social.biowar...6/index/1632473

What's the deal with noobs & others? No one is wearing their prescription spectacles? It's the third sticky from the top that you skipped past, and the part we need from you starts this way:
Chris Priestley's Fill in the blanks instructions:
"If you don’t find a similar problem already reported, consider starting a new thread. Note that most of this information can be obtained by using the game’s Configuration Utility, which is available by pressing the [Configure] button from the game’s launcher:"
(Similarly, we really should have had something like that sticky at the top of the DA: O Tech Discussions Forum  to use as a remender there.)

PCs are not *anything* at all like game console systems.  There is almost nothing that is truly "standard" between various branded PCs, making the game developers' jobs very difficult, and requiring that warning labels be attached to game boxes for those games that have serious requirements.

In case you have misunderstood how to evaluate your PC compared to that game box label, we have to start from here.  Please fill it all in (if you have a problem with that, and are in the DA: O Social Sites' forums, do a search for "Basics" without the quote marks).

Basic Hardware Specification Chart (Empty so far)

Processor Manufacturer: AMD / Intel
Processor Name / Type: Athlon 64 / Pentium / C2D / dual core / quad, etc.
Processor Speed:  ?.? Ghz (or AMD Performance Number)
Operating System / Service Pack: WindowsXP with SP #?, Win7, Vista ? (Oh, no!)
System RAM: ? ? GBs (MBs, if less than 1024 ? )
Video (GPU) Manufacturer: ATI / Nvidia (only those two are supported, PERIOD, so answer which of them you have)
Video Card Model: (examples) Radeon HD 5670 / Geforce GT 240
Video Card Driver Version: Catalyst ?.? / Nforce ??.??
. . (use the numbers, not the word "latest")
Video Card onboard RAM: ? ? ? MBs
Sound Card Manufacturer:
Sound Card Model:

(And this is only for the raw hardware variations.  Potential software conflicts are far more likely to be game play problems, and developers cannot test for all possible program loads.)
