What, like "Archangel" in ME2? That would be... lame. (IMHO)KnightofPhoenix wrote...
He could be the "dark wolf".
It's stated as such in his Awakening profile on the official website.Porphyria2 wrote...
Hold on a sec here.... do we know that Oghren is a father or is that speculation? If it's not just speculation, what did I miss??

and how exactly will anyone justify that? you can't just bring back only one of the two non-plot-romances oOPhantom_1 wrote...
More likely we will see 3 more popular characters in future sequel than Zevran aka :
Morrigan, Leliana and Alistair

Those 3 characters are most popular in overall DAO community so its justified to bring them back.
Missing of any other character can be easily explained storywise , since Zevran was assassin he have still lots of enemys , in my playthrought he said that they still might look for him.

Trying to kill me on two occasions and dying the second time doesn't do him much credit.
I am most curious to see if Loghain will be around if the player spared him.

Zevran is probably dead in a decent % of DA play-throughs, so I can't imagine he is a huge priority.

He is comfirmed as cameo for Awakening, tho we will need to see what happens in future and sequels.

He is for me!!! My two favourite PC play-throughs used Zev in every party and romanced him.
In the first, my HNF married Alistair and became Queen with Zevran committed to staying as her lover on the side. If the two Gray Wardens have difficulties in producing an heir to the throne then Zevran will become very useful.
In the second, my Elf romanced Zev (only Elven companion and she despises humans) and also had a future with him. Many quests were undertaken just with the two of them because they formed an almost unbeatable team. My poor Elf is bereft at not having her lover by her side, watching her back, as she journeys to Awakening and cannot imagine a future without her partner. They are even considering going to Antiva together to take over the Crows.
Seriously. DA left loads of opportunity for including further character development and storylines that include the current companions. If they don't manage to do so somewhere down the line DA will become just another Bioware game that leaves players feeling shafted. DA was written to provoke emotional involvement & it's be very disappointing if this was not continued.

So, if your own dead character can return (meaning BioWare ignored your sacrifice and is probably going to make Morrigan's ritual the more canon ending) then why can't other characters you may have chosen to kill off? Just because YOU chose to kill them doesn't mean BIOWARE will choose to kill them. You can kill Oghren too, if you really want to. Just make him dislike you enough. Leliana/Wynne... destroy Andraste's ashes. Wynne - side with the templars against the mages in Origins, but Wynne was a cameo in Awakening anyway, if not playable. Oghren WAS playable, so even if you HAD killed him in Origins, he'd still be there. The same can be true for Zevran and I hope it is. The ending for Awakening left strong indications for his return.
Personally, my theory is that they are going to slowly reintroduce many of the original Origins characters one or two at a time over the next year or so in new expansions. Oghren first, Zevran (I hope and pray) is second, and who knows who the third will be? Hard to tell, it's too soon. Sten we will likely see, as there are strong hints in Origins that the Qunari plan to invade. Leliana hints at returning as well. Shale, possibly, and with a new mortal form! (That would be incredibly weird). Dog, well, he should have never been excluded from Awakening. Imprinting doesn't just go away, so I hope to see him again as well, but he's not as important as the actual talking characters. At least not to me. >.>
As for Alistair, who knows? As the king of Ferelden, he can't really just up and rejoin his old war buddies, but it would be nice to see him return as a playable character, too. But, to me, the most important Origins character is Zevran because he's my toon's romance interest (not to mention my personal favorite of all the characters) and... ... ... I WANT HIM BACK! Now excuse me while I set my very sharp, very lethal poisoned pitchfork aside for easy access, in case BioWare upsets me by not bringing my Zevran back in the next expansion.
Edit: And who says Leliana is one of the most popular DAO characters?! Zevran has a very strong fan following, thank you! Tons of fan-fictions dedicated to him! And I can't STAND Leliana. She's too preachy. She tries to literally stuff her beliefs down people's throats. It doesn't matter that she's nice about it, if anything that just makes it even MORE irritating. -.-
I'm not saying she shouldn't be back, she's an important romantic interest to many people, but so is Zevran. And Zevran and Leliana are the two romantic interests that are MOST likely to return as PLAYABLE characters. Their stories leave the most room for it. They're the ones with the most freedom to travel around with you. They NEED to be back, BOTH of them. I admit it, even though I detest Leliana.

I imagine Alistair will also be the canon for origin choices if you play as an Orlesian.
Yes he is.
