Also if you're on PC, there's a mod that skips the fade section of the circle of tower and gives your character all the stat buffs they'd otherwise get.

I'm not taking this thing seriously. It doesn't come across as anything resembling an informative read, and judging by the basic lack of details and the really short review itself, it seems as though the reviewer is basing all of his/her opinions on simply reading the already released information from the devs that anyone can read by spending a few hours on this forum.
When you've actually played the game, you will naturally have more to say, which is why other reviews on Awakenings have been much longer and much more interesting to read.

This is a review from Game Informer.
I think it's important to remember that this is not a brand new game, but an expansion on the previous title. It is coming out 4 (Dragon Age only launched last November) months after the release of the core game, and people are expecting them to have added more features and content that is freakin' outrageous given that time frame.
Ease up and leave high expectations for DA 2

It got better reviews on Inc Gamer, and I see your point too.

Edit: Realized after my "speaking of ruling" tie-in was pretty nonsensical, so here's the qualifier. I guess you're a king in that game. Kinda popped into my head.

I'm sure it will still be solid and I'm still looking forward to it, but considering its 15 hours long (gee didn't we all suspect that 2+ months ago?) really how much should one expect to be fleshed out giving the length, amount of dev time and add in the lovely 40 dollar price tag and it flat out reeks of cash in in some regards.
It is however what I expected it would be, a couple new specializations per class, some new skills, a few new monsters, and a continuation of the storyline which I'm fine with. Though had they had more than the 6 months (if that even) of dev time it prolly could have been a whole lot more. Sad when you really think about it.
Welcome to the new Bioware I s'pose, where they bang out hour long DLC's at 5-7 bucks a pop, short expansions, with future full games most likely having less customization options due to dev time and or zot usage constraints.

Thanks for the link.
It's tough to hang on the words of individual magazines and websites, because everyone has their own biases and opinions. I tend to lean more towards going to Metacritic for an average.

And whats worse is that these people will likely give the console version an even smaller score, just like last time!
Well the "last time" they were right. The PC interface takes a poop on the console version. Much better to play on the PC. So I don't see an issue reviewers mentioning the superior version.

It sounds like they wanted an entirely new game...Which this isn't. It's an expansion.
But, we shall see how it is on Tuesday!

Edit: www.youtube.com/watch or just wait for this guy to do a review, he's the only one I personally listen to, and he's about as relevant as any of the others.

In fact, it's so vague that anyone could have written it by simply reading the stuff that the Devs have already told us on this forum and making a few guesses.Arduine wrote...
Yeeah, this review is extremely vague.
I do not see a *single* new detail in the review
There's no reason to believe that this reviewer has played awakenings at all. He doesn't discuss any of the new areas or area designs. He doesn't discuss what playing in the epic levels feel like. He doesn't discuss the combat (other than to say: Yo! it's like Origins!) He doesn't comment on the NPCs other than to say that a couple of them are cool! (is this guy like 15 years old?) He says Nothing about the plot, The new skills, the new specializations. Nothing.
And shame on the thread starter for posting such a dishonest thread title: Review for awakening in full... lol really? Full of what?

Speaking of ruling and meting out justice, does anyone know if Rise of the Argonuats is any good? Looks like a bioware clone, which could be an alright thing if its cobbled together properly.
Rise of the Argonuats is a poor mans Mass Effect, it doesnt take precedents over anything but if you can get if for free or really cheap I guess it would be worth a shot. I'm just going off what the reviews said, and that and the gameplay looked shoddy in the trailers.

I don't expect a new game or a ton of new features. I'm looking forward to more Dragon Age, and it sounds like that's what's coming. More locations, a few new enemies, some new companions, and more gameplay.
Shoot, the novelty of the original game is only just beginning to wear off for me, and now we've got a new expansion coming with the promise of more DLC to come before a DA2.
I'm content, here.

This review makes me nervous...I mean no new mage hats or anything? Did they ignore EVERYTHING people have been saying since this forum section opened up?
Short answer: Yes.
Long Answer: Yes, while frantically slapping together more 45 minute DLC's & Dragon Age II: The Money-ing.

I guess I'd read the Orlesian warden has no origin story, but it's still disappointing. I really loved those - esp the City Elf & Casteless Dwarf ones. I was peevish that the Dalish Elf gets 'that woman I didn't talk to at all the first time' at the final celebration, but the Noble guy's was quite touching. (and I never did do a noble dwarf - who shows up for that?) But I found the origin very compelling, & it lasted throughout play, (elf especially.) I hated the idea of a prison mage tower - it was nice to resolve THAT, too. Oh, well. I don't think I could tolerate my OWN Orlesian accent, anyway.
*Spoiler Alert!*
If your a Dwarf Noble and you survive the final battle you will be greeted by Gorim, who brings news from Orzammar. He had just gotten word that the Assembly had nominated you to be a Paragon, with all the benefits that it entails. He also offers to fight by your side as your second again.
If your a casteless you get the same thing but I dont know who comes to tell you.
