OMG that sucks so much. I went to best buy to buy a mem-card to I can keep my files safe and Best Buy tells me they are out of stock and MSoft is trying to phase them out.

Me: Maybe they should make it so their xboxes aren't 100% guaranteed to break within a 24 month period first?

Employee: Well apparently all the new 360s are made with all new chips and coolants and stuff so they are much less likely to break.

Me: Well that doesn't do me any good when I have 360 that is due to break any second now. What am I supposed to do?

Employee: Try Gamestop?

Well I am a cheap-o so I decided to get mine at Pawn America... I had it for... like 3 years, surprisingly enough. Oh wait, I had boughten one which got the red ring of death a week later. Then I exchanged it for another one since it was still within the week waranty..

I don't mind investing the money since I get my taxes back soon.. it's just all the hard work and ugggh...

Ouch.

Personally, I can't imagine playing shooters on a console ...

What is a Red Ring Of Death?

Edit:  Slaps self.  Google you numbnuts.  It's an XBox fault code thing.

Where something in your 360 goes haywire, rendering the system inactive and immune to most attempts of repair. It's happened to roughly 50% of the older models and I think some of the newer ones.

Still waiting on the inevitable RROD myself. I got my console a few months after ME1 came out, but only have a few games for it. Anything I can get on the PS3, I do. I really hate that Mass Effect is an XBox exclusive.<_<

80% of all 360s will RRoD in 36 months. It's pretty much facts.

Here is a question. Why can't you upload your saves to the server and store them to your XBL account? That would be ideal. Hopefully they are working on it.

yup, ME2 breaks xboxes. games that are supposed to played for 100hours straight are not supposed to be played on fragile hardware. xbox is for casual 1-2 hour gaming :x

New 360s are just as likely to brick as old ones are, the difference is they've patched in an error code to pop up instead of the RROD. I have a 360, but microsoft has made it painfully clear they are first a foremost a SOFTWARE company that doesn't know the first thing about hardware.

Gosh, who knew that Microsoft would knowingly and continually sell a defective product? Oh wait...

And then they discontinue mem-cards?

I think best buy is just full of it.

I just bought a mem card a couple of weeks ago from EB Games. I don't think they're discontinued...

You can't copy the save files over, but I'm probably going to take my completed save games and move them over, just to be safe.

My xbox is way old. Sometimes I need to turn it on and then off again multiple times before anything shows up on the screen. I actually got the RROD a few times, or at least I got the three red lights and the Chinese error code, but it still amazingly runs

Those complaining about the discontinued mem cards...you do know your game saves on the HDD right? If the box bricks, the HDD is fine...you just have to connect it to your new 360 and everything is fine..except for some downloads, which can be transfered.

Can't you just attach your HD to a new or refurbished xbox? It should have all your saved games, music, pics, etc.

*gasps* If you get the red ring of death, does it ruins your save files? D:

I hate 360. Got the red ring about a year ago and then borrowed my brother's in order to play ME2. He wants it back now. Good luck on that.

The new Xbox Arcades are pretty much rrod free by the way... and ive had the same roughly 4 years ago and it still works fine, and i play almost everyother day.. the main reason people get the rrod is because they shove there xbox 360's into little tiny shelves and theres no air geting to it to cool it down... keep it in an open area and it will last much longer

My xbox wasn't on a shelf but rather sat on top of my entertainment center which stands roughly 3 feet tall. There was nothing blocking off circulaton or anything. :/
