(Chris Priestley's Fill in the blanks instructions):
"If you don’t find a similar problem already reported, consider starting a new thread. Note that most of this information can be obtained by using the game’s Configuration Utility, which is available by pressing the [Configure] button from the game’s launcher:"
Let's pretend he wrote that for, and stickied it, in both places, shall we? There's no need to ask which game you are describing a problem in in the DA Forum, and now that ME-1 is removed from the ME-2 Tech Discussions Forum, Chris could edit his post to remove his first question anyway.
It's possible, however, that you may prefer this, instead:

At what resolution is this happening? That's a minimum video card you have there (foure year old 8500, renamed), and in this game, could easily be overstressed by the high end of medium resolution.LukeBongwater wrote...
Same problem + when I load an old game I cannot attack and attacks do not affect my party, although my characters still dodge and such to incoming attacks that do no damage. Also my stamina/mana bars are empty and this all happened right after updating to 1.03 from 1.00 (fixed my choppy combat performance though).

I uninstalled and reinstalled with patch 1.02a and game is now playable much better than 1.00 and none of the problems of 1.03 (so far), but the video performance still seems worse than when I had 1.03 installed. Maybe I will just wait until the next patch before I upgrade.

Patch 1.03 isn't fully compatible with Windows OSes other than XP in every instance. You may have a similar problem, but you cannot, save by an absolute fluke of coincidence, share the exact same configuration of hardware, drivers, operating system version, and service pack, so you will please be so kind as to include all of that in your own separate, new request for assistance, else just forget about having asked.Venusyl wrote...
I have same problem. I cannot see character at character generation screen. this is start after 1.03.
Thank you.

You need a better CPU, absolutely, or else a massive overclock on that one you have now. (Because they were stripped of the majority of the on-die cache RAM, they are crippled, but by the same token, it more or less "frees" that model for some huge overclocking numbers, with decent cooling, of course).

Next time you are looking into the archives, be more selective about a message thread to reply to. This one was long past dead and buried, as well as not being truly pertinent.
Most of the folks whose comments made up the thread had ordinary gaming systems. One did not. This game isn't supposed to run correctly on the lowest quality of hardware; that is why there are published System Requirements, whether in some respects they are imaginary pie in the sky criteria or not.
For instance, with a bad graphics solution, it may be possible to create only a male player character, and because the graphics are too bad to properly display her, be unable to do so with a female player character.
