So i started taking Jacob with me more. He's actually a lot better squad-mate than i thought. And I figured i'd check out some of his dialogue. That is until now. I took him with me on Garrus's recruitment mission. It was him and Mordin. So after the first wave i always leave someone with Garrus. Every other time i've done this (haven't done it with all possible squad-mates, but most of them) the person says something like "Right Shepard." Zaeed's "roger that." is the best. So Jacob says: "I'm not sure that's a good idea." I thought to myself well i guess I don't have to worry about the weapons being cleaned the rest of the mission because you aren't leaving the armory after that  comment.

I think thats just the remnants of some discarded system that determined garrus' likelihood to live, with jacobs shotgun being ill-suited for balcony sniping.

thats the only context I can see his comment making sense.
