1.03? I think you mean 1.01. Anyhow try running it as an administrator and comment back if it worked or not.

Same problem on vista 32. I've tried a few of the suggested fixes yet none of them have worked for me.

aehm... I don't see any 1.03 patch to download for ME2, just 1.01

Are you sure you know what game you are trying to update? Or are you even in the right forums. This is Mass Effect 2 PC Technical Support.

1.03 is the new Dragon Age: Origins patch. 1.01 is for ME2. So this needs to be moved over there. However, lots of people have been having issues with the 1.03 patch for DA:O, myself included, so I've rolled back to 1.02a.

Actually, very late in the ME-1 game's sales cycle, there was a 1.03 on that game, but this "error 36" happens to be something that happens with DA's patch, not ME-1's (that I recall ever seeing mention of, at least).

oops - yep um I was answering a dragon age thread and ended up here - just read the title bar - (looking awful sheepish....) - so far no problems with ME2 - will see when the hammer DLC comes out... nothing to see here, move on, move on...
