There have been a lot of great moments in video game history from the time that Mario finally found the right castle and rescued the princess to the first time Link defeated Ganon but what is your favorite?
For me I would have to say that a great video game should be able to put the player into the shoes of the person he is playing and make him feel what the character is feeling and nobody seems to do this better than Hideo Kojima. I am sure everybody who has played Metal Gear Solid 2 remembers the part where Raiden is trapped on Arsenal Gear cold, naked and confused and then he starts getting those weird codec calls from the Colonal saying weird **** like "I love it when the purple stuffed worm from flap jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on hari kari rock, I NEED SCISSORS, 61" and even starts telling you that you have failed the mission and that you should turn off the console right now, when I first played this I had no idea what the hell was going on and I was feeling just as confused as what I thought poor old Raiden would be feeling at that moment.
Anyway what is one of your favorite moments in a video game?

The ending of Syberia 2. One of the most emotional moments I've ever experienced in a video game. Though the ending of The longest journey & Bobbin Threadbare meeting Lady Cygna in Loom come close too.Darth-Mandalore wrote...

Not going to list them all here, too many but the ending of ME2(the suicide mission-before,during and after) was very memorable indeed. Probably one of the best endings in game history, made me go through a rollercoaster of emotions and made me proud to be Shepard:)

This.
Greatest Plot device I've ever seen, only because it worked seamlessly in to the game. There was no way of figuring it out, and when you did discover it, it made sense in the context given how much he uses it.

This. BioShock is genius.
I loved the ending battle to Super Metroid as well. Perfectly executed, something so many fewer games do these days.

Zelda 64.. the whole freakin thing.
My faction leader on Rome total war who lived to 112
My Secretly female priest in medieval total war II that got elected pope.

- Playing Super Mario Bros 3 for the first time
- Watching the opening scenes to Final Fantasy 4, Secret of Mana, and Final Fantasy 6
- Walking around in the thunder storm in the beginning of The Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past
- Finally being able to play Street Fighter 2 at home on my SNES, instead of in the arcade
- Hearing the music in Actraiser for the first time
- Um, all of Zelda - Ocarina of Time
- Watching Gorion get killed in beginning of BG
- Disc 2 of Grandia
Okay, I'll just stop, because this list will go on forever!

Hmm, let's see...
1) All of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (especially the exploring of Ganondorf's castle and the final battle against Ganondorf/Ganon. Ganon was awesome) and also it's sequel, Majora's Mask (especially kicking Majora's Mask butt during the final battle).
2) The death of Gorion (I could really imagine how my PC would feel like at that moment, seeing how her father was killed right in front of her eyes)
3) The battle against Irenicus (and the ending movies)
4) The first time I used a winged hat in Super Mario 64 on the Nintendo 64 (It felt like I was flying...)

I remember that one time, in that game, where I shot some guy in the face. I don't even know if he deserved it, he was just standing there.
Sigh. Good times.

Another vote for Grandia
The Lunar Cry in FFVIII
Meeting Archangel in ME2
Palom and Porom's sacrifice in FFIV
Defeating Alexander in FFXI
Talking to a barrel in Chrono Cross
"Dying" in Chrono Trigger
Realizing that the Flood had been released in Halo

The ending to Mw2 was too epic. I remember just thinking to myself: "Im not going to do what I think Im going to do" when you look at the knife in your chest and start mashing it out.
The plot twist in FFX was pretty emotional for me, for some reason.
FF7 was pretty epic.
After the nuke in Mw2.
Ending of Half Life 2 or Half Life 2 episode 2 might have to be the 2 best.
"Time, Dr Freeman? Is it really that time again?"

Alyx getting shanked by a Hunter in HL2: Ep 2 - huge 'NOOOOOOO' moment for me.
Every line said by GLaDOS in Portal - comedy genius and excellent voice acting from Ellen McLain.
Destroying my first tower in Red Faction: Guerrilla. Awesomesauce.
First level of Ultraman on the SNES... because it was the worst game I've ever played, and I never got past that level. Ever.
And of course, hugs for Tali. I can only think of two games where there is a button to hug someone - ME2 and A Boy And His Blob.

I´m terribly partial to the clenched fist arround the hammer or the pick from Red Faction.

The end of Gerrilla is exactly what I expected and the only moment of personality from Mason:
-What´s your status?
-Just fine admiral; but yours is about to go red.
-Who´s this?
-The Voice of Mars.

the opening of Final Fantasy VII
The motorcycle chase in Metal Gear Solid 3
Metal Gear Solid 2's character switch (did not see this coming at all)
The house seige in Resident Evil 4
Holy crap the nemesis can follow you through rooms in Resident Evil 3
Mass Effect 1 and 2, the whole thing
Coming out of th vault in Fallout 3
The return of McDohl in Suikdoen 2 if you load up a save file from part 1
The ending to Prince of Persia: the Two Thrones was damn near perfect way to end the series
All of Chrono Trigger

Getting out of the crashed prisoner spaceship in Unreal. First game with such a nice view. Of course it's not that good now but back then it beat every other game.
The latest game which has scenes which will probably stay with me is Cryostasis. Has a lot of ****ed up scenes near the end. Also playing a polar bear and getting decapitated as a cow.

This as well as the nuke in MW2. Say what you will about the game, I still liked the nuke. Also:
-The ending of Assassin's Creed 2.
-The opening of both BioShock 1 & 2.
-When the moon was crashing down to earth and you knew the end was nigh in Majora's Mask.

Hrm... There's so many, but the first one that comes to mind for me is finding out who Revan is in KOTOR. Got a big, "HOLY CRAP!" and "Why didn't I figure that out earlier?!" from me.
