Heya all just a quick question, I was going to buy a new PS3 soon ( maybe the big 250G),I have the 40G ( old school lol) and I wanted to be able to transfer any saved files I have of my games, trophies, etc over to my new system.
Especially with Dragon age, my save file is about 44/46 hours long. When I go to try to move it over to the flash drive I put in, it says that the game file is "locked" and I can't xfer it over.
If I remember right I don't think I had an issue with my COD MW2 or Dante's Inferno games. Is there any way for me to Unlock the game so I can put it onto my FD for later use?
Thanks - Rob
Xfering saved DA:O files, locked?

Nothing you can do. We are trying to get this save thing unlocked. If they don't, I will trade my PS3 version to PC. I hope they do.

Damn, thats a bummer dude. I'd get it on a PC but I'm not into playing games on the PC, plus my friends that do have DA:O on the PC said that its Hella laggy.
I hope they can unlock it. If it really can't be done, maybe I'll have some free time while I'm in the Airforce, head down to the BX and get the PS3 I want and start all over. ( I'll need to be Hella bored though ;P )
Thanks for the response Alex!

I know for sure transferring from console to USB memory or external HD will not work. However backing up system in settings, I have no idea.
Sorry to say this better, I saw flash dive and assumed the 'no way of coping'. As for the system back up in settings thats different and not sure.
Sorry for not being clear.

All good dude, I hope they can "unlock" it, it's a pain to lose any saved game file, but especially with DA, considering my file was about 40+ hours worth!
And I was talking about a FD to xfer the files, maybe I can check out the back up system thingy.

atonyc68,
If you restore to the same PS3 that you made the backup from, you *should* be fine (some have reported corrupted saves when locked). However, if that PS3 ever dies - your locked saves go with it. Really is a retarded situation to prevent something that 99% of the users care less about - trophies.
