With your squadmates, is there a particular duo you keep bringing with you? Not neccessarily for strictly combat reasons, but more narrative. In the beginning, I stuck with Jacob and Miranda since they have that history together and are both official Cerbrus operatives. Although when Jacob started getting more screentime than the supposed second in command during after-mission cutscenes, I moved on.

Grunt and Mordin make a particularly odd pairing, and I think it made Mordin's building regret over the genophage more solid. In a similar manner Tali and Legion are a good mix to make her changing perceptions (or at least more impressionable attitude to make her change her mind from putting a bullet in the geth.) I took Tali on the IFF and Legion's loyalty quest.

Of course, there's also Shepard/Garrus, those guys are thick as thieves, but Shepard isn't exactly a squadmate. Jack and Miri might have some good confrontational dialogue too, but I didn't use them together that often.

In Mass Effect I chose my squad members solely based on how I liked them and never on what kind of skills they brought. Honestly though it was a fairly easy choice as Wrex and Ashley were the only two that didn't end up annoying me greatly. :P

I'm playing Mass Effect 2 in a similar fashion with Grunt and Samara being my two favorites. This time though there is also awesome squad members like Mordin Solus. :P

Furthermore I believe Bioware should fix Dexterity in the PS3 version of DAO.

I'm the opposite.  I play as a soldier so I had to bring Tali everywhere to open stuff in the ME1.
ME2 I bring whoever seems like they would create the better discussions based on what was happening.  if nothing was clear (like bringing Tali on Legion's mission) then I would take whoever I like the most.
but since that changes a little through out the game I use everyone quite a bit.  Jacob, Zaeed and Samara go on the fewest missions for me.

I used everyone about equally. All the characters are awesome imo and its nice to switch it up every once in a while. Garrus Tali and Legion were the only ones i favored more than the others.

Now doing a run with Tali/Legion just to see all the "hidden" dialogue.

I can think of a few.

Tali/Garrus. As said before, good old times.

Zaeed/Thane Two of the deadliest guns for hire in the galaxy, and they really complement each other.

Tali/Legion. Geth and a Quarian?! THIS IS MADNESS! Besides two combat drones + the best sniper squad member in the game is epic.

In ME1 I had normally had either Tali or Garrus with me for tech reasons. Wrex was usually with too, for awesomeness reasons.

ME2 -> I love Mordin. Everything about him is ridiculously cool imo. So he's normally with, and then I switch it up with the others. I also really like Garrus' character so he also ends up tagging along.
