I hope there's some stuff coming before then, not to sound ungrateful or something but I'll be in university by then...

I hope it's a sequal, not more origins content, I guess if it was then it must have been in the works for a while, no chance of giving someone at bioware a few crafty pounds to make sure all *my* favourites come back? Ah well, any would be fine, or none, I just hope it meets with a better reception than awakening.

Pretty sure that would be a sequel date rather than an expansion one. I'm happy as replays of ME2 and DA will definitely keep me sated until then - then I'd use it to hold over until ME3.

I dunno. With the "two years of DLC" planned for DAO I've always figured DA2 comes out November 2011 with too-small DLC packs meant to breadcrumb us through 2010 until a big expansion pack hits in early 2011.

Probably February 1st, since that's a Tuesday (when games normally come out).

I know that a site I looked at a couple of weeks ago said it would be coming out in March 2011. And my computer clock says that 2/1/2011 is on a Tuesday, it's pretty easy to assume that's the sequel since I don't understand why they would release DLC right before the game release.

This seems most likely.

On top of the "2 years planned DLC" comment from devs; it took 5-6yrs to make Origins from the time it was announced to the time it was released (granted at least 2yrs of that was inventing the IP and lore etc) so, assuming they started at the time DA:O was released (it's logical to assume they would use the main development team from Origins on a sequel rather than have it started in parallel by a different team, unlike expansions/DLC), that's 15months which is nowhere near enough time to make such an expansive game as BioWare are sure to do with a sequel.

In addition to that, the Devs are posting questions on the forums gathering info about what we like and dislike which they are clearly taking into consideration for what to include in and exclude from a sequel. With a release date announced for this teaser, they must already have most of the wok done and thus there would be no reason to gather feedback. This thread posted yesterday in particular supports this, especially with Victor Wachter saying:

Didn't EA announce DA2 would be released during the 4th quarter of their fiscal year? 2/1/2011 definitely falls into that time period.

I don't think it's a sequel, and honestly, I hope it isn't a sequel. It would be too soon, especially for a large game like Dragon Age, I don't think even Bioware could pull off a sequel in only 1 1/4 year.
