Ser Gilmore NPC

This mod brings Ser Gilmore back into the game as a party member to accompany you throughout the game.

Ser Gilmore is a Knight of Highever that appears in the Human Noble Origin. He was a Grey Warden hopeful but was left behind to guard the gates of the castle when it was attacked by Arl Howe.

You will find Ser Gilmore in LOTHERING, near the entrance to the Chantry.

In this mod you have...

* Many, many, many dialogs! Pc initiated and Gilmore initiated talks; distributed throughout the game.
*
THREE different paths!! Friendship, committed romance (this is true
love), or open relationship path (you can all have fun with other party
members too) for both males and females. The three paths are different
and lead to different endings!
* Fun stories, gifts and interjections.
* Different endings and epilogues.
* VO (hopefully in the future, NOT for the beta), cutscenes, face animation and what have you.
* A NICE ending (for a change) :-) and continuity in Awakening.

As a player you can choose...

* If you are a human noble:

+ Choose if you were friends or if you had a brief romance in your teenage years (until your parents found you kissing and were forced to separate).
+ Fall in love with him,
+ ...or have an open relationship,
+ ...or be his friend.
+ Relive your childhood memories! Remember how you fell in love!

* If you are anything else except human noble:

+ Get to know him.
+ Fall in love with him,
+ ...or have an open relationship,
+ ...or be his friend.
+ Find out about his family and his life at the castle!

BE WARNED: open relationship path and romance path are different from one another. They also lead to different endings. The endings are consistent with what you were doing! Love is love, sex is sex. BE WARNED!

Installation:

* Download the Dazip from the project page (or DAnexus).
* Go to your Dragon Agebin_ship directory and double click the daupdater.exe, the tool to install dazips.
* After it's installed, go to the game and activate the mod.

* BEFORE INSTALLING A NEW VERSION OF THIS MOD, UNINSTALL THE OLD ONE, AND THEN DELETE THE FOLDER Documents\\\\BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\AddIns\\\\Ser_Gilmore_LBCI

* FOR B4 YOU DO NOT NEED TO START A NEW GAME, BUT PLEASE READ THE FIX NOTES, ESPECIALLY IF YOU PLAY WITH EXTRA DOG SLOT.

Hm... so, all you rest of modders... how do you upload a dazip here of 200 MB? it seems I can only upload 95Mb and, well, my mod is more than 200...

Looks good; I would like to point out that you no longer have to manually start DAUpdater to install dazips if you have updated to patch 1.03.

Ladydesire: I haven't updated my game yet, so what would be the proper installation procedure if you have the v103 of the game installed? I'd like to add it there. :-)

All people need to do is double-click on the dazip; that will automatically launch DAUpdater, minus the error message that doing so used to give us.

I hope so too. :-) The complicated part is that this mod has more than 1700 lines to voice... I'm still very hopeful though. :-)

what sort of voice are you looking for for the VO work?

Well, I'd be best to have a british guy, or somebody that can fake a british accent real well. If you listen to the Human Noble origin you can hear the original voice, but it doesn't have to be exactly the same anyways. :-)



Also, there are almost 1800 lines of text... I am aware it's a monumental task, so whoever wants to do it has to be consistent...

Thanks to everybody who reported bugs, the great testing of Torilund and TaHol, and many a bug squishing from Theo and myself (ahem).

Here you have! B3, now with 90% less bugs and 50% more sex! :-p (that's my sales pitch, but quite true nevertheless).

Yeah, I can tell you that all dlgs and most scripts were updated... Many a bug were crushed. It was a massacre!

playing B£ and enjoying it a lot.

small suggestion.
in Lothering there is a small quest where a group of refugees attack the player after they find out he is a warden. seems this would be a perfect place for Ser Gilmore to intervene and solve it peacefully?

further whilst the writing is of good quality, perhaps there is too much of it. 
whilst playing (and I have only just left Lothering and had one conversation at the party camp concerning becoming a warden) The seems to be a lot of dialogue that covers the same group. 

point the conversation about becoming a warden and the drinking of the blood could I think be broken down into two conversations.
one with the PC
one as a out of combat NPC-NPC conversation with Alistar.

if you want I can give a more details breakdown of these thoughts? but I want to play a bit further first. 

but by the way I am enjoying it immensley  and don't wish to sound too negative at all. ...

About breaking dialogs: I think we are way past the point of hugely editing convos. It's not simply a matter of editing or cutting. It's tied with the scripts and the plots, with conditionals and actions...



On another note, I see you're just started. Convos change a loooot once you start visiting places and advancing in the game. :-)

Notable changes:



* Fixed bug: You can have sex with Rory anytime if you are in an open relationship.



* You can have sex with Rory earlier in the mod!!! (your prayers have been answered).



* Compatibility with Extra dog slot! BEWARE!!!! if the dog is still broken, you need to reload an earlier savegame or start a new game!!!! BEWARE!!!



* Subtle movements and animations when Rory has conversations with the PC. So cute!
