A piece of advice, if I may.

Is the difference on these noticable in terms of throw force? I realise there's a different amount of newtons but I'm not sure if this translates into a practical amount. Throw ranks as one of my faves but I'd like to have it affect multiple enemies.

That said, I currently have Heavy Throw, and there's something deliciously Carries-esque about slamming people into walls. I don't want to give it up if it Area Throw means more nudge than punch.

Thoughts?

If you've completed enough of the game, you can get the chance to respec your powers. It costs a bit of Element Zero, but you can do it as many times as you want as long you have Eezo. If you don't like Area Throw, just respec again.

If you have area pull and get a few in the air, is area throw wide enough to send them all flying?

Alternatively you can detonate the pull, which in addition to the explosion damage would also send them all flying with the force of rank 2 Throw.

Area throw is better for husks after stripping their armor. So you could kill more then one.

Heavy throw is a lot funnier, because it's so powerful. Pull + heavy throw just looks hilarious.

There is a difference in throw force. Heavy throw will throw stuff across entire levels it will even embed enemies into walls. Throw field will launch them across smaller rooms max. Of course throwing everyone you just grabbed in pull field is devilishly fun. I don't' know about damage wise you could be losing a significant amount of force damage.

Eyeballing it, Throw Field does about half the brute damage of Heavy Throw. It's not really a good idea to start using it to strip Barriers or anything, which is actually doable using Heavy Throw.

Distance matters as well. Heavy Throw will usually throw an opponent clean off the map if you angle it right, even without prepping with a Pull. With a Pull, it's just ridiculous. Area Throw's naked throw force isn't as large, but you can lock down clumped Reds with serial applications of Throw. Not ideal, but kinda fun.

Aside from Throw Husks, the best application for Throw Field is to mess with multiple clumped Heavies so they don't bother you. If you angle it right, you can throw them right off the ledges if you apply Area Overload first. Arguably, Pull Field is better for that, though.

You know, I totally forgot about that. Heavy throw it is, then.

Heavy throw is noticeably stronger. Angle it slightly below the target and it will fly low, curving up just before it hits. Once you get the hang of it you can send people flying up into the air without the use of pull. It takes some practice b/c if you aim too low you will hit the ground and too high and it just hits the target straight on sending it back, not up.
