No, you do not have to play a wrecking ball Vanguard, you can play kind of a caster Vanguard and set up combos etc., but it is way too boring imho.

It looks like it's fair to say that you're simply too busy killing stuff to worry about what your squad-mates are doing.  Controlling the squaddies seems counter to the aggressiveness of the Vanguard (from watching the vids).

Thanks for the replies. The Vanguard is too independent for my tastes then. I like squad coordination too much. :happy:

Hah, yeah. You don't have to play like a wrecking ball. I obviously did for the videos, which explains the second one.

Normally, I use squaddies and combos quite a bit more. A happy balance I'd say. Less death that way too.

Edit: A tactical wrecking ball? Something like that...

True true. Most of the Vanguards in the two big threads are big on team play, but we usually like making very Charge-heavy videos because that was the one thing people said was impossible. Stripping, Pulling, and Biotic Combos are the big ones. You don't see it that often, but it's easy to do and no, you don't feel like an Adept-Lite.
