This is my second play through, and I'm looking for some new party members to use. I originally used Wynn, Morrigan, and Alistar. By the way, my first character was a rogue. My second play through, I plan on using a duel wielding warrior and try and use some new party members.

1. Do I use my DW warrior as the melee DPS character or the main tank?2. If I don't use him as the tank, does Alistar or Shale make the better tank?3. Is Wynn truly necessary to have in my party? (playing on normal)4. Morrigan or Leliana for ranged damage? I'd prefer Leliana sense I played with Morrigan all the way through on my first play through but I also see how valuable Morrigan can be.Thanks in advance for anyone who helps answer my questions Image IPB

Right now I'm thinking:

Me (Duel Wield Warrior) Main DPS
Shale (Defensive Talents) Main Tank
Morrigan - Range DPS
Leliana - Secondary Range DPS/Utility

The only makeup available in game is rouge. There are two of them. <rim shot>

Serious answer:

If you play on casual or normal either your dw warrior or Shale will be a perfectly adequate tank. There may be some rough patches early but leveling up and choosing wisely will smooth them out. On the more difficult settings you may wish to consider setting Shale up as a dedicated tank or practice shifting aggression from one character to another.

Wynne is completely optional. You can either use Morrigan to make health poultices or have her take one healing spell. I just finished playing as a Dalish dw rogue. My primary party was the PC, Morrigan, Lelianna and either Shale or Alistair. I kept both Morrigan and Lelianna at ranged. I didn't experience any real problems playing at normal.

Your set up should work fine.

You can play through the game with just about any combination of characters you like. Mages definitely make it easier, but I've gone through the game with three warriors and a rogue and beaten it just fine. It does require a little more tactical planning and the judicial use of archery, however.
