That's actually a really good choice for Jacob.
I was thinking Beckingsale as Liara possibly, I think Tapping would do a good job as an Ashley type character.
Good choice for Chakwas.

Amanda Tappings as Ashley? Don't get me wrong, I'm a major Star Gate: SG1 fan, but I don't think she'd really fit the role of Ashley... I'd say she's more like a Miranda.

Kieth David is the only person allowed to play Anderson. His voice is too distinctive for it to be anyone else. And anyone that questions his acting chops need only watch The Thing, They Live!, and Dead Presidents to be proven wrong.

Lots of good options for Ashley, what about other characters? I imagine the Salarians Krogan, Turrians, and Volus will be Gollumed in or purely CGI, but we still can work with the main human and Asari characters, but what are we missing?

Nah, there were some great costumes you can make. Look at Ron Perlman as Hellboy. It's possible to make something like that. Not to mention CGI has come a long way. Look at Avatar.
