Mass Effect 1 - Mu Relay to get to Ilos
Mass Effect 2 - Omega 4 Relay to get to the Galactic Core
Do you guys think Mass Effect 3 will do the same? Maybe there will be another mysterious Mass Relay out there? What will be its purpose?
Another Legendary Mass Relay?

I would predict that somehow in ME3, Bioware will interweave some sort of religious/creator myth for a Reaper tie in.
I have nothing to back that up, it's just a hunch. As such, I could see a Mass Relay connecting to some sort of Reaper Holy ground that explains their motivations and history.

Mass Effect 3 -
Omega (built by the Protheans...yeah we've heard that one before)
within Haestrom's Sun (collapsing star reveals Mass Relay, since these things have withstood solar energy before)
the Citadel (I just want to see it get used once in this trilogy....)
Or none of the above.

Aren't there several unknown mass relays? I mean, the Council, who's been mostly in charge of them for centuries, considers activating unknown relays almost criminally negligent?

Don't forget that the Citadel is a massive relay.

I believe this is true. In fact wasn't the First Contact War sparked by Turian's responding with military force over the Alliance activating a relay?

about 99% of the galaxy is unexplored, according to a codex entry if i am not mistaken, so it is more than likely there are other ballin' mass relays out there. still would love to see the citadel mass relay in use.

We're going to activate it in an attempt to 'stop the Reapers' by flying over there in our ship made of Reaper technology. Since we have the geth, krogan and rachni as our allies, this should be no problem. Once we infiltrate the base, the Turian Councilor will try to intimidate us by airquoting, in which we realize the consequences of our actions and shoot ourselves.Turkeysock wrote...

However, after falling through the glass at the Citadel Tower, we will be resurrected again by our cybernetic implants into a human frog geth stalker.

After successfully defeating the Turian Councilor, the Reapers usher in a new era in what will now be known as
Reaper Age: Origins

I have a feeling the reason the heretic geth are interested in Haestrom's sun is they want to figure out a way to make stars go supernova on command. In other words, turn a normal star into a weapon of mass destruction on a scale never seen. An entire solar system destroyed in moments.
That said... I do think there's going to be an "epic journey" in ME3. The destination will be the original Reaper homeworld.

Man, that's pretty crazy. Didn't you do something similar a while back based on the text at the beginning of ME1? That one was hilarious, whoever did it.

There are a lot of unknown mass relays out there. By the time of ME1, only about 1% of the galaxy had been explored by the known interstellar species.RShara wrote...

The galaxy is a big place.
There's a bunch of werid crap out there. Another Mass Relay would be the least suprising . . .

Ah, I remember that - it was in the 'Mass Effect Anti-Christian' thread that BusomJack started:GuardianAngel470 wrote...

I'm not surprised that his thread eventually got locked.

The collapsing sun in ME2 is clearly the setup for something big, could be energy to create a relay comes from an exploding star like Lightning in a Bottle... got get your power source from somewhere.
ME2 is clearly the Empire Strikes Back of the ME2 universe, seems almost every decision, even as a Paragon... is a setup for the worst... I mean seriously, the entire Colony where the Thorium was is getting sick again... if that isn't a set up, nothing is.
