EDI specifically mentions she's responsible for SR2's cyberwarfare equipment.

Does she effectively use it though? besides open a few doors here and there.

What did you want her to do, make their core go critical while you were still on the ship?
Besides, they are a vessel with Reaper-level technology, it is likely that their computer systems are more advanced than ANYTHING in Counsel space, and yet she was still able to steal data and take control of their systems.

No, they wouldn't.
They explain that muzzle energies of the weapons cannot increase without limit because recoil is determined by the momentum imparted to the target (the Law of Conservation of Momentum still applies).  So what they do instead is make the rounds very small and light and ramp the velocities up immensely.  This increases kinetic energy while reducing the amount of momentum carried by the projectile.  This is realistic.  You cannot have weapons that cause the targets to go flying backwards while the shooter just stands there.

Frankly, I don't think either of you know what you're talking about.

Naval weapons in ME are firing projectiles carrying six orders of magnitude more energy than our very best railguns.
Lasers are used, but they cannot match the energy density or efficiency of projectile weapons due to mass effect fields.  Personal weapons cannot achieve the same amount of advancement in muzzle energy because the Law of Conservation of Momentum (i.e. recoil) still applies, but it is still vastly improved, and the armor is advanced enough to stop those projectiles.  "Dragon Skin" wouldn't stand a chance.

Think of cyber warfare though, it's never mentioned in the Mass Effect universe, technology improves every day

Like the kind EDI mentions that she can use to shut off other ships gravity, air, or mass effect cores?  Turn off their guns, targeting, and life support?

but she doesnt

Yeah against the super advanced collectors in the one space battle scene in the game

Sadly for you pauravi I know exactly what I am talking about.

Quantum entaglement comunication has already been proposed by many scientist and a quantum computer has been made on a very small scale that was about 77% acurate with about 200 programs.

Element zero or Neutronium as known throught the science world is matter made up entirely of neutrons and theorized to happen in neutrons stars. This is why element zero is radioactive actually. This has been used in science fiction since Andreas von Antropoff coined the term in 1926 before we even discovered the neutron actually.

Anti gravity was made by possible by my towns very own Dr Ning Li google her I don't feel like explaining it takes a long time.

We don't use railguns because the energy needs. We use lasers currently to prematurly blow up missles and atomic bombs. Tanks use this to blow up missles and rpgs before they hit. They will soon add them to air units the REAPER UAV uses a powerful laser that can blow up a van.

The weapons they use are designed to blow up or shatter on impact there not meant to go through because this dose less damage.

In other words you are ignorant and un willing to listin to us. We just didn't feel like spending all this time explaining to you all this. lol

Well since hes on the end of a tiny ridiculously fast particle that could likely pierce his armor, probably him.  What hurts more shooting a gun or the bullet?

OMG you don't even know the lore of the game. EDI has advanced reaper algorithims from nazara.

Depends on how you handle the gun, and it depends if the bullet is moving..... Turian

No they don't. The Russian Arena Active defense system, one of the very few functional designs, uses specialised grenades. Power demands for a laser capable of destroying missiles is greater than can be supplied by a tank's engine.  You're thinking of the Airborne Laser system, which requires a Boeing 747 and millions of dollars of targeting equipment to work and takes 3-5 seconds to destroy a missile.

Cyberwarfare already exists now, it's just not as prevalent or ungodly potent as it is in Mass Effect. Primarily because the militaries most vulnerable to it tend to be on the same side most of the time.

Modern armies are keenly aware how vulnerable they are to info/cyber warfare. It's why they're almost always on the bleeding edge of it. Finding a way to jam and/or misdirect American communications, sensors and GPS would be a massive kick in the balls to the entire military. The Navy and Air Force would pretty much be out of the game, and the Army and Marines would have to start fighting like it's WWII again (and without air or armor support), and they're not nearly as good as they used to be without their tech edge.

No not the russian one aesaar. This one is I think called SHIELD or soemthing like that. But yeah those are diffrent.

Actually it dosen't take that much power. Because it only fires for a milisecs detonates the missle. I have actually worked on one of the designs for this that the U.S. bought.

Why bother?  Just jab your opponent with the muzzle and shoot.  It'll do more damage than any bayonet would.  At that range, the kinetic barriers would be pointless.

High-caliber rifles DO hurt the user, they just hurt the guy on the other end a LOT more because of the surface area of the firing platform vs impact point. Try firing a .308 rifle for a few dozen rounds, you'll probably have a bruised shoulder.

As for cyber-warfare: Guess what, there are things called 'firewalls' that protect critical systems, and during your escape from the collector ship, EDI mentions that shes fighting hundreds of them simultaneously. Also, you can only hack into systems that are networked and available for connection with other systems. If my computer isn't plugged into the internet, there is no way for your to hack my system, no matter how advanced your AI is. Critical systems such as life support and reactor control would be isolated systems to prevent such tampering.

For every weapon ever made, someone has found a way to reduce its effectiveness.

You guys arent seeing what i mean,
Modern days, we have dragon scale body armor, which greatly minimizes recoil and damage from the bullet... 100 years from now, that technology will be 100 times better.

Kinetic barriers are of course tech for that time

Mass accelerator guns? we already have rail guns, 100 years from now, the technology would better improve.

If you think about what exactly happens during gameplay... you see that you are constantly being shot at and you wonder why you are not dying because if such a thing happened today you would instantly die. Well it's because the tech is 1000X better!

Another thing we have a mounted gun that can shoot a special round that explodes over cover. Would be nice to have something like that.
