Mass accelerator guns? we already have rail guns, 100 years from now, the technology would better improve.

Look at it this way: the earlist firearms to appear in Europe was in the 1300s and they were basically man-portable cannons - there have been hundreds of minor improvments (chemistry of the propellant, standardized and mass production of parts, rifling, feeding mechanisms, etc.) in the seven hundred years since then but that doesn't change the fact our soldiers are still carrying gunpowder-based firearms.

The first patent for an electric cannon was in 1918, ninety years later we're still testing prototypes.

So going from the prototype ship-mounted railguns we're testing now to hand-sized mass accelerators that can fold up for convenient carry in under two hundred years is pretty phenomenal, you're expecting way too much.

and a quantum computer has been made on a very small scale that was about 77% acurate with about 200 programs.

You need to cite a source.  The most advanced quantum computers we've made only consist of a few qubits.  Any "program" you're talking about would be nothing more than a simple calculation.

Element zero or Neutronium as known throught the science world is matter made up entirely of neutrons and theorized to happen in neutrons stars.

No, it DOES happen in neutron stars, and nowhere does it say that Eezo is neutronium.  Eezo has no protons, but it could be something else, such as positronium.

Anti gravity was made by possible by my towns very own Dr Ning Li

No, it was not.  She had a theory, and has failed to deliver on it, just like everyone else who has pursued anti-gravity.

We don't use railguns because the energy needs. We use lasers currently to prematurly blow up missles and atomic bombs. Tanks use this to blow up missles and rpgs before they hit. They will soon add them to air units the REAPER UAV uses a powerful laser that can blow up a van.

What's your point?  ME weapons are clearly better than all of these, by orders of magnitude.  Rail guns and lasers both are pathetic compared to mass accelerators, and their laser weapons are FAR better.  We can blow up a van, GARDIAN blows up fighters and frigates.

In other words you are ignorant and un willing to listin to us. We just didn't feel like spending all this time explaining to you all this. lol

No, you just don't know nearly as much as you think you do, and you spout a bunch of bullsh*t so you can sound smart and hope nobody calls you on it.

No not the russian one aesaar. This one is I think called SHIELD or soemthing like that. But yeah those are diffrent.

Actually it dosen't take that much power. Because it only fires for a milisecs detonates the missle. I have actually worked on one of the designs for this that the U.S. bought.

Never heard of a tank-mounted laser active defense system outside of fiction.  A laser isn't necessary.  Grenades do the job quite well, and they don't require constant maintenance like a laser would.  Are you sure we're thinking of the same thing (tank-based ACD systems to destroy RPGs and AT missiles)?  If so, I'll need a source.

There is a lot of tech today that, if our civilizations don't collapse, could be seen as ultimately more advanced than ME in a lifetime or two.

Look at powered armor, a staple or Warhammer 40k. Far fetched? Not really. There are already military robots of increasing sophistication and those that even augment human strength and abilities, primarily designed for the disabled or for moving things, but one can see how that might eventually become more.

Also when it comes to human lifespans. In our own time, we are making breakthroughs in discovering our genetic make up and how the process of aging works and what triggers it. While I hold out little hope that it will greatly effect anyone in this forum's lifespan, I can see in a generation or two the ability to massively slow down or repair the effects of aging (assuming we are not extinct). I can see humans living well beyond 150 years, with cybernetics and the like even beyond that...

Not totally unreasonable or sci fi stuff here...

Besides, they are a vessel with Reaper-level technology, it is likely that their computer systems are more advanced than ANYTHING in Counsel space, and yet she was still able to steal data and take control of their systems.

OMG you don't even know the lore of the game. EDI has advanced reaper algorithims from nazara.

Well, by that logic then, she should have had abolutely no trouble at all with that harmless little Reaper IFF, should she?
Just because some of the tech was used in her construction doesn't mean that she has a categorical knowledge of all their technology.
Christ, you're grasping as straws.

Why bother?  Just jab your opponent with the muzzle and shoot.  It'll do more damage than any bayonet would.  At that range, the kinetic barriers would be pointless.

Tell that to a krogan. They don't seem very deterred by being shot at point blank range. I want to stab em'.

Stabbing would do even less damage.  I think you underestimate what these rifles can do in terms of damage.  Even if you stabbed said Krogan in the heart, his body would shift over to its' secondary one.  All you'd do is ****** it off more.

This is the truth.  With resource depletion, especially of oil, and climate change, our nations are going to be greatly tested, especially among the younger generations (X, Y, and beyond).  Our current lifestyles are completely unsustainable and barring a miraculous technology breakthrough like workable fusion power (not likely as even if possible we won't see it until the end of the century) and immediate implementation of it, we are likely to experience decreased standards of living throughout the West and famine, death, and war in the third world.  A sad age really...maybe that is why we will need videogames more than ever...

The stab the other one. Stab em' with my stabby stabby! Or better yet, an electric shock stabby stabby! Once the blade goes in, it discharges 100k volts. I likes to stab!

Single shot from assault rifle/pistol still does mroe damage than a single stab.  If mutilating things with knives is something of a personal preference, I'll gladly point you over to AC2 or GoW3.  Outside of shanking someone in a bar or something, a knife would be pointless in ME.

Im not going to go into detail for you. DO YOU'RE OWN WORK! damn. You think you would of got the message. Yes the quatum computer worked and there is actually an experement that there sending up to the internatinal space center where they will try to send some information using quantum entagelment back to earth and that's where bioware got the ideal.

No actually the ones that used specific programs usually failed the first succefull one used 200 random programs there is no way of knowing what they were they didn't say in the article I read. I have a photo graphic memory.

No actually that is what it is. type in element zero on google see what you find. There are many science fictions that use it. Star trek used it for gods sake lol.

No actually it did work and she "dissapeared". If it didn't work she wouldn't of gotten all those goverment grants.

My point was nearly 200 years of improvement and we would have all those problems solved and we could use very powerful verions of them by then. really simple.Element zero adds a good aspect of it too.
GUARDIAN blows up cruziers man.

Actually I just hope people call me on it. So I can just lol all day at how you don't know and are ignorant and refuse to even do the work to know. I think it's really funny how stupid some people are out of choice. Modern days, we have dragon scale body armor, which greatly minimizes recoil and damage from the bullet... 100 years from now, that technology will be 100 times better.

No. Technology does not have an infinite growth curve. Specific techs follow logistic growth curves, not expontential ones. They increase rapidly then hit diminishing returns and never surpass a certain level.

Mass accelerator guns? we already have rail guns, 100 years from now, the technology would better improve.

The technology has improved obviously, since the mass accelerator guns don't destroy themselves with the first shot, and can fire for extended periods of time with no apparent need to recharge their batteries.

The energy required to fire a slug from a rail gun is enormous, and it
still only fires at muzzle velocities of about 2km/sec.  According to
the dude outside C-Sec, a mass accelerator fires rounds at speeds of
something like .03c.  For comparison, that is about 9000km/sec.

I'd say that is a substantial improvement.

No, 1.3% of C. This is unrealistically large of course. But it's what he says.

Use punctuation and proper English sentences, otherwise it makes you look ignorant.

Anyway, I don't believe you know the current leading theories either, and if you did you couldn't understand them.  Everything you know about physics you learned by reading SciAm and reading conspiracy theories on the internet.

He sounds like he's already drunk the Kool-Aid. I wouldn't bother arguing, because he's now resorted to "government conspiracy".

This is a fairly trivial exercise for someone with a cursory knowledge of electrostatics.

If you can solve that, I might even believe that you've read a scientific article before, and maybe even understood it.

Asking him to solve problems to "prove expertise" or what have you is not relevant to whether he's right or not. He's wrong, of course, but that isn't why he's wrong.

As you said before, he needs to back up his claims with sources. You don't need to say anything else, the burden of proof falls squarely on him.

Low tech? You do relise the weapons shooting tiny, tiny led at incredible speed. Making ammo almost absolete but the weapons gets owerheated. If we had that sort of guns today I doupt a tank wuld last long against the sniper variant.
