Massive Shale Bug for Personal Quest

I recently Killed Caridin at the Anvil site, Shale was not present and i recived a penalty at camp to my likeing as i expected.
Insted of doubleing back, and wasting time as you cant just enter the campsite from underground at the anvil site i gave the records from the Anvil Area to the Shaperate without shale.
Now, i used the records and the shaperate has them. Shale gave me his quest in camp and i have gone back to record the records a second time (which i cant do. It just gives me one option that results in shale just observeing).
Somebody better fix this, because its a huge bug to miss out on a whole personal quest. A script needs to be provided at the Shaperate to access Shales Personal quest whenever you can.

You just need to have the quest and take Shale somewhere in the Deep Roads. Was it Cairdin's Cross? She'll start remembering familiar surroundings and lead you to a new area.

that is very very strange to put a plot area. I mean Cairdins Cross is one of the last places you would expect to find shale telling you infomation on the thaig. Especialy if you know that shale will die agaist you if you take branka's side.
Its also a bad place to put it, simply because i completed everything there and why would i go back? The Shaperate would of been way more appropriate to remember such things.

You can lie your way out of that, but...
On the other hand I agree there is little reason to go back to the Deep Roads after Cairdin/Branka encounter. Unless you blindly look for clues to Shale's quest, that is.

Why?kingthrall wrote...
yeh but its a pretty stupid spot to put it at the crossroads, when you dont ever go back there after completing the main part of the quest.
Actually it seems perfectly reasonable to put it at the crossroads. Shayle came from "somewhere" in the deep roads so logically a crossroads would seem a good place to start.
If you kill Caridin then yeah she's gonna be pretty pissed off at you, unless you can convincingly lie. You won't get the quest in this situation unless you do.
You don't need to go to the Shaperate as far as I am aware and from what you said you never triggered the quest in the first place.
Oh and Shayle is a "she".
It does make me laugh in a way though because this is a perfect example of the "rar rar rar the patch doesn't work this MUST be a bug it can't possibly be anything else and even if its not a bug its crap and bioware ftl and i could do better rar rar rar."
I'm not saying that there are not buggy bits in the game but this thread and some of the others do seem to want to attribute EVERYTHING to the patch being crap.
Just saying, imho...

If your going to remember somthing then it should be from the shapers that "record the history" is my argument. Also you are correct Celt, i just would of thaught at the time that you get this information from a reasonable source.
And i tried the ortan thaig + the anvil of void area with no luck. Which is my second argument, that if you are going to look to unlock dialog from a character you would start either at orzamar or at the anvil where the key "focus spots" of the game are. Like tourist attractions, you always remember the unique things not the smaller silly things.

Disagree - anything can trigger a memory; there's no logical reason why not being in the region of where you should be - i.e. Caridin's Cross - should NOT trigger a memory. The shapers do record history - but the point of this is is that Shayle REMEMBERS where she is from; which is perfectly natural. I still don't understand why you think that that is a bad thing?kingthrall wrote...
My argument is this Bassmunkee. It is like driving to a 4 way intersection in the thickest part of the underground and then remembering which way is back is your ancient home from at least 60 years ago, it does not make sense.
