Lol sweet video, but your video gave me a suggestion on a video of a police sniper shooting a suicidal man's gun out of his hand, which was better :D.

Thanks. But I have to admit that it took a couple of tries to get the job done properly. I couldn't let personal inadequacies get in the way of science B)

No nothing like that, I just mean I couldn't accept a result in which I missed head shots, so I had to repeat the experiment.

Oh. I have ME2 camera sensitivity set to low, if that matters. I tried changing it but it didn't have any effect that I noticed, oddly. Regardless, I use a Logitech MX518 set to 400 DPI when playing ME2. Pointer speed in Win7 is set to exactly half. Does that help?

To be fair, I think you could have done that Viper section in 40 shots.

In theory maybe, and even that's stretching it. You'd have to have almost all head shots.

It was difficult enough to accomplish the head shots I did, it took me more attempts than I liked. But you're right I missed a couple of shots that could've been hits.

In any case, it demonstrates the difficulty of achieving the best possible result with the Viper. With the Widow all you have to do is the following: get out of cover, aim, headshot, get back to cover, reload, repeat. If you want optimum results with the Viper, you have to aim much more carefully but not waste time, make sure you don't get killed while being out of cover aiming and watch out for those wiggle animations. How difficult is it to get 40 consecutive headshots with the Widow, where you have three seconds between shots? 40 consecutive headshots with a rapid-firing rifle is near impossible.

True enough. I'm impressed you got so many headshots as it is, without the slowed time effect. I think you wasted at least 4 bullets shooting corpses though. ^_~

That's the thing about the Viper... It can put out impressive damage per second rivalling or in some cases surpassing the Widow, but to do so you also rival or even surpass the Widow's ammo usage, which somewhat ruins the point. You can instead focus on getting good damage per ammo usage (make every shot a headshot, refresh the time dilation, use more powers), but this is more time consuming. To do both simultaneously requires godlike aim.

u can 'cast' powers whil in the time dilation of your zoom so it doesn't require that much of your aim skillz only prolbem is that casting feels like it takes forever while in slo-mo mode.
but thats not really the point in this topic i gues.

The viper has the best on-paper dps of all the sniper rifles, but it's very hard to chain headshots while keeping the maximum rate of fire (because enemies move around and flinch while hit). So in practice the Widow will come out a bit ahead (as these vids show).

I realize I'm a bit late to the party but just wanted to comment.  It's not to terribly difficult to chain headshots with the viper especially when playing an infiltrator, you get that time dilation every time you scope, so you can effectively be in an almost perma adrenaline rush type state, for any other class though yeah chaining headshots can take some practice, which is why the viper and it's large ammo supply trump the widow in my opinion.  I took the widow on my first infiltrator run and regretted doing so almost from the start.  I just hate having 12 shots and then looking for ammo.  Viper is far more forgiving.
Anywho, Crucial's sniping skills put me to shame, half the time I couldn't even see where his crosshairs were on the target before he pulled the trigger.
