Hey, just read their test of the game! DAO scored 95%

But there was a screenshot there that really made me jump! Heavy spoiler possible....

...........................or the male PC was Alistair's clone.............

.................. or I've just seen a picture of a Alistair/Morrigan lovescene

It's not a joke. If it was legal, I would upload a scan of the picture.............

And BTW, they said that DAo was the "sommet" the TOP of RPG! Baldur's gate III is HERE!

Alistar PC clone is my bet.

If the other characters could romance each other that would be great but why would we watch it.

Yeah, I think so, but he looks REALLY close to him. Wish I could upload that picture, or that any other French reader could give their opinion on this.

BTW, I would not be surprised if there were romances between companions. But the fact of watching it would be awkward for sure.
Or another posssibility: it was a threesome and PC was there and simply didi not appear on the screenshot...... :o

(Ok, have I'm crazy, it's now official)

Hate to rain down on your parade, but I belive the devs have stated that there are no NPC/NPC romances.

And as for triangles...hard for me to belive we will see them, though after Jade Empire I belive I have seen everything :pinched:

Uhm...any chances on translations of the bullet points of the rewiev? ^_^

ha, nice, the reviews keep coming and 95% is a rate not usually accomplished for many games.

I've read somewhere that there isn't NPC romances, don't quote me on that, though

If you could translate the major points, it would be nice too, but you already told us about the review, that's enough ;)

thanks!

Unless the NPC was upset at being rejected by the PC and was getting back at the PC. A little like Rowan & Loghain.

I've just looked at the photo you're referring to (2nd one in the "Vive la dynamique de groupe" section , right?) and I'm pretty sure it's the PC, since the scene they show is one we've seen in videos as part of the Morrigan romance.
He does look a lot like Alistair though. Must have been confusing for the pC when he met his twin. Image IPB

As for a (rough) translation of the bulllet points:
"the story is epic, mature and intense";
"around 8 companions with their own goals who will react to each of your decisions",
"each chapter of the story will have you make hard choices, the consequences of some of which you may not see for several hours",
"at least 70-hour long if you want to explore the world around you"
"the gameplay is elegant and (battles are) much harder that the latest Bioware games [...] tactical combat [...] where you have to make the best use of all the abilities of your companions and combine them. [...] Monsters can also make us of these spell combinations"
"high-end gear is not different enough from the low-level one"
"graphics are far from the best, due to very generic landscapes [...]  most areas are small, wih long loading times"
"characters look a little better and animations are much better than in previous Bioware games, but still far from an action game"

There you go. Image IPB

Woop sorry, I created this topic and was so upset I did not even summed up the review! Thank you minamber for doing it !

Only precision I would add concerning your translation:
- the graphics are not that bad, the tester admits that is the counterpoint to tile sets (so to modules), no big worry here;
- one more precision, it seems that between high end equipment and normal one, differences,  visual  or in statistics, are not always obvious.

around 8 companions? well, they didn't count shane and weren't precise, so it's ok

Yes, they didn't test the DLCs so no mention of Shale. Imagine that, it's already 95% without DLCs! This game is a HIT!

Yes, I have no doubts, from some time to now we will surely be seeing a lot of game awards going to Dragon Age, and it will conquer the world! Image IPB
but I was thinking, even if they didn't test the DLC's, they probably know about Shale's existance, adding the number to 9. But if they didn't, they weren't precise because of the "hidden companion", and that would make them 9 as well. Well, that just means I can't have hopes on an eleventh companion, but we are well if what we have, can't complain Image IPB

Yes, I too hope for secret companions. Look for instance at what people found about Loghain in the CC. That's hope!
