After installing the patch, playing as a mage, every time I cast Mana Clash the game crashes to desktop. Hope you can fix this
This has happened about a dozen times just today.

We didn't fix your long loading times, Bioware did. We are your fellow gamers in here, just like the forum description tells you. Bioware has practically no presence here at all.Jhaz_167 wrote...

If you want us to assist, remember that we are not clairvoyant, so here's the deal:
I really wish that DA: O had the same "reminder" type sticky at the top that ME2 has. It's the third sticky from the top in that(this) forum that covers what is needed, and the part telling the noobs what data we need from them starts this way:
(Chris Priestley's Fill in the blanks instructions -- you may ignore the question about what game is involved, however):
"If you don’t find a similar problem already reported, consider starting a new thread. Note that most of this information can be obtained by using the game’s Configuration Utility, which is available by pressing the [Configure] button from the game’s launcher:"
Let's pretend he wrote that for, and stickied it, in both places, shall we? There's no need to ask which game you are describing a problem for in the DA Forum, and now that ME-1 is removed from the ME-2 Tech Discussions Forum, Chris could edit his post to remove his first question anyway.
It's possible, however, that you may prefer this other, instead:

Well excuse me. I accessed this page through the game load screen support button. So if I mistakenly thought that this was Bioware supported, blame them for linking their support button to this site. I have been playing this game for some time now and I have adjusted and readjusted the "Configure" settings. The problem started after I put in the (also linked from the Load Screen window) patch 1.03. I came here for "Support" as was intended by pressing the "Support" button, I guess I expected some sort of .. oh, I don't know .. Support? Not some wise ass, probably 10 year old, chastising me for not putting a post in the right place or following proper "procedure" in doing so. I didn't expect to get a proper answer or fix to the problem, merely to share what I had observed to be causing the crash I was experiencing, in hopes that it may help determine what was causing the problem. Believe me..I will not seek help from here again. Thanks for your unwelcoming, sarcastic attitude. It will surely serve you well in your future as President of Public Relations.

Back on topic...
Also been having a random CtD problem since I installed the 1.03 patch. Tried using the -dx9 tag and running as admin, only thing left is Compatibility Mode and/or paranoid saving after every fight. In case it matters, I have the retail version, not the direct download one.
System specs:
Windows 7 x64 Professional
AMD Phenom II X3 720 Processor (2.8 GHz triple core)
8 Gb system memory
ATI Radeon 4670, 1Gb VRAM

Bioware needs to get a update out asap or they will lose a bunch of people who where going to buy awakening.

Definitely having the CtD issue since installing patch 1.03, (which did, however, did fix the ever-increasing load-time problem!) Can't cause the crash consistently (well, haven't tried) but seems to occur most often at the very beginning of combat, or at points when an auto-save might be triggered (e.g. approaching highly dangerous area.)
Hope Bioware is already working on it!

I do not normally post, but this error is increasing becoming a problem, Upon installing the patch my game crashes to desktop at random. I play my main as a ranger and imported to Awakenings this morning. I continue to crash however, now instead of 10-15 mins. it is happening every 5-7 mins. Before Awakwnings I was running :
Windows 7 Ultimate
AMD athlon 64 duel core 2.4 Ghz
Radon HD 2600
4GB ram
now I am running:
OS Name Windows 7 Ultimate
Processor AMD Athlon II X3 435 Processor, 2900 Mhz, 3 Core(s), 3 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB
Total Physical Memory 3.25 GB
Available Physical Memory 2.42 GB
Total Virtual Memory 6.50 GB
Available Virtual Memory 5.21 GB
Thank you

I'm running Windows Vista x64 SP2, AMD Phenom II X4 Black Edition proc, 4 GB DDR2-800 ram, and dual ATI Radeon 4890's in Crossfire X setup. The game crashes randomly, but it's been happening rather frequently since the 1.03 patch. However, I would like to say I do appreciate the increased load times Bioware has implemented. Is this possibly part of the problem, though?
