How epic?

Like Shepard riding on a unicorn dashing towards Harbinger to impact its mass effect core, causing its Reaper shell to break, rays of rainbows lighting through the cracks, and then explodes into glitter and fire that rains above Earth's skies?

Like that?

That would be awesome.

The ending I want for my Shepard is definitely to have him go out in a blaze of glory and take the Reapers with him. I'd be surprised if this wasn't a possible ending in ME3, but given the promises that have been made, I'd also be disappointed if it was the ONLY possible outcome. I hope there's lots of different ways it can all go down - if people want their Shepard to live happily ever after with whatever LI they've pursued, the option should be there. But I really want mine to die saving the galaxy.

My friend, I have this for you:

bit.ly/d4am53

Award winning video game, impressive graphics and amazing soundtrack.

HOLD ONNNN TO THE NIIIIIGHT
THERE WILL BEEE NOOO SHAAAAAME

I love you.

I personally want a happily ever after ending, but I can understand people not wanting it for themselves. The option would just be nice. After all the crap Shepard's had to go through, I think he/she deserves some serious downtime. Another reason why the ME team needs to take notes from Dragon Age.

Why do people want Shepard to die at the end? Is that the only way to be a true hero nowadays?

Cleary you did not read/watch Lord of the Rings....Boromir is one of the best heros ever in fiction and his death was epic and very sad.

No, there's Snake for one
But, it seems fitting for Shepard to die

I would like it to be an option, but I also don't want it to be mandatory. Perhaps it could appear that Shepard dies, but uses his/her death as a cover to start a new organization working outside of normal channels. That org. could be where any new games in this universe starts. You are recruited for this shadow org. started by the famous/infamous Shepard.

yeah he should have the option to die an epic death. An option. But he should also have the option to survive but it should be harder than in ME2

And epic death could be awesome, esp if you view it as a redemption sort of thing for all the evil things and renegade acts that Shep has commited, or just want to go out in a blaze of glory.

Imagine the different dialogue options in that kind of situation, I mean Shep could go out all badass clint eastwood style, or a more sympathetic way, redeeming the good in him and saying that he now knows what he did was wrong( stuff like saving the collectors base, teaming up with Cerberus, killing a whole race of species, etc). Indeed an epic death ending could be powerful and emotional.

Not a true hero, but if I was Shepard i'd go under a heavy existencial crisis. Like "why am i here?" "what do i do now?" I just don't see my Shepard living one of those cliché happy endinds...

Maybe she would live aboard, traveling with the crew and visiting the Galaxy like a celebrity ;D

How would you define epic as it would relate to Shepard's death?

Notice I said "is that the only way." It just seems that people just want all epic heroes to just die at the end. While I am not completely against it, I do hope that Bioware provides a variety of endings. Besides, Shepard has already died once, he doesn't NEED to die again.

There should be other options, but one of them should be the sacerfice ending. If it's done right then I would be all for it, if it's done like FO3 I will be very disapointed.

One death is enough in the series.

Otherwise it starts to savor badly of the Monty Python swamp castle bit.

You know what I have a better idea. For those of you who want your Shepard to die so much, why don't you just play Mass Effect 2 and obtain the bloodbath ending.Posted Image

'cos that's not canon and there's no ME3 if that happens (and I don't want everyone to die, just Shepard)

I think there should be the possibility, like with Dragon Age.

As long as there is an option for it, sure....If it's forced on me, then hell no.  No way would I sacrafice myself for the sake of the universe.  If Im going to die, everyone else is going with me Posted Image

No. As indicated by the fact that people are already expecting it to happen, it would be a trite and predictable attempt to manufacture cheap drama.

I really hope that Bioware can spend the time to be more creative than that with their story.

This.

Possibility for an epic death, possibility for an epic survival. Most important thing, ending should be bad ass.

As one of a load of possible endings, sure, why not?

But I want a fluffy-bunnies-and-rainbows-happy-ending for my Shep.

This should be the endnig options

Everyone lives including Shepard (only characters that die are part of the plot) Reapers are defeated
Some people die and Shepard lives, Reapers defeated
Reapers kill everyone and the cycle is complete
The Reapers win and enslave Shepard and any surviors
Shepard commits an epic sacerfice to save everyone
Shepard commits suicded if his LI dies

This is the best way to go, everyone is happy and good way to end the series.

Me like this choices... Posted Image
