I've been playing DA A LOT but recently it' been crashing to desktop time after time again.
Earlier today I got stuck at one fight, it crashed to desktop at some point during the fight and there was no way to avoid it. I poked around in some forums and now I have the latest drivers for my graphic card (tried down-grading it too) and a dust-free computer, I actually got through the fight and was able to play for a few more hours (not crash-free though). But now I'm stuck at the final sloth-demon in the fade (the one you have to kill 4 or 5 times), after one or two kills the game crash again.
What the hell am I supposed to do, I really don't want to stop playing this awesome game, especially since I didn't have this problem at all before. :(

It is probably the new patch/virus 1.03 that does it. A lot - including me - have this problem now . read here: http://social.biowar...-1633999-1.html

Everyone! Write to Bioware about the problems with the patch here:

http://help.dragonag...ty=&p_redirect=

If a lot of players report problems, the chance for a fast patch 1.3b or 1.4 is much bigger.

Alright, will do that right away. I don't suppose there is any way you can remove the 1.03 patch so that the game will be playable again?

Have you tried turning video settings down also maybe try windowed mode i also read in some post that ati tool tray would need to be running i`ve never had an amd so i don`t know much about them but you could also try turning aa on or off . You can do this from splash screen>configure>video

Don't think that turning the video settings down will help, since they've always worked before, but it's of course worth a try if it helps....

If you use steam - no =(

If you use DVD - yes. Uninstall (remember to keep savegames), reinstall, find and download patch 1.02a on this site. It takes ages, but works.

Wait can you tell us which ATI tool that is and where to find it?  I suppose I could use it without doing the boring stuff; you know, uninstalling, reinstalling the game..

I don't know, I didn't try that one. But uninstalling really works, so you can always do that...

So are we the only people that are having problems after patching? Just like kozzy I have been playing the game for 3 months with one or two crashes and now it is a constant thing. BIOWARE please fix this. I was looking forward to the expansion pack but there is no reason to buy it until this crashing problem is fixed.

Yepp, mine is back again since I bought Awakening, and of course you can't play it without the 1.03, so I'm back to square one again. Seriously, the game is not even playable, once you're in combatmode you can just sit back and wait for it to crash. And since it's not really a game without combat I refuse to play it until this is fixed because it's really ruining the whole experience. :(
