I'm not sure if this is the place for this, but....I saw the threads where people can list their mods and noticed that the devs said that they were planning on doing something else, which I think is a good idea.  Here is my question/suggestion (and please excuse me if this has been stated elsewhere):

I love the nwvault at ign (though it used to have a better table for reviewing mods) because it would list the mods, along with their description, # of downloads, user ratings, etc.  It would also cross-reference other mods made by the developer and/or list website links.  It is really *wonderful*.  Another great feature is that it would list mods by different categories, such as "romance", "horror", etc.   Not to mention how helpful it was to be able to read other people's comments on how they did or did not enjoy the mod and why.

Instead of a thread that you have to spend hours searching, a site like that (with a search engine) would be awesome.  Is there sucah a place for DA mods?  Is there a plan for it?

I'm not trying to criticize the mod threads, it's just that I love custom content and have little time.  Instead of spending hours searching, it's nice to be able to spend that time playing.  And finding everything in one place is always a bonus.

For anyone else in my boat - a friend just pointed me to a little site called "dragonagenexus".....looks good!

But if there are any more, I'd be happy to hear about them.

There are a lot of them here under the "Projects" listing; while there are some mods that I've gotten from DA Nexus, I find it to be massively overdone as far as categories go, which was also something I dislike about NWVault.

They are working on it, but no details are available. And the Vault, by today's standards, is absolutely awful and the *nexuses have many of the same problems. The mod threads are only meant as a temporary solution in response to the massive shortcomings of the current system, however.

Despite some of the minor issues nexus sites might have, they are modern magic candy compared to the BioWare social site. The BioWare social site is border-line unusable for mods/projects, and there's a good reason it gets only about 1% of the traffic of nexus (as estimated by project success/visibility between the two). I *really* hope they haven't stalled on their effort to redesign the social site, because I would love for the social site to be the "go to" place for this stuff.

Also, to the OP: you can see other projects by the author. Just click on their name over on the right-hand panel (listed as Owner usually), and then go to the "projects" tab on their profile.

Will do...  Thanks!

I don't even have my mod on here any more for download. With my first beta release I had only a couple dozen downloads. On the nexus site I had hundreds and had received tons of feedback and bug reports about my mod. I got no comments from the DL's here. It then became to much of a hasle to update both pages when I had a version change so I took it down.

I feel bad about that though, wish this site was setup better and was the go to place like the above poster said.

It's good that Bioware has solicited ideas on this. To be honest, I'm surprised that we haven't already seen a robust solution. I certainly hope it's receiving urgent attention.

Bioware's commitment to module hosting was a significant reason for my early interest in DAO. Even at this late stage, Bioware could make a big difference to community spirit by introducing an acceptable hosting capability.

Obviously, we need contingency plans, in case this doesn't happen. Those of us who favour open hosting might have to consider an entirely new community initiative. That would be very sad, but we can't wait forever.

It also doesn't help that it's getting cluttered up with stuff from ME2 now. If it doesn't officially support modding like in the first one, it would still be nice to have a catch-all category for it.
