However I did buy it for my rogue player character.
Personally, I would make it a lower priority purchase over things like Andruil's Blessing and Lifegiver for your pc/tank

Think about it, the lighter armour draws less aggro and we get to see her belly-button.

shadow of the empire is a nice fit i think. 2 dex and 2 str, which is useful if u didn't take or are late taking lethality, and the 2 stam regen is pretty good when u've just used arrow of slaying with her.
Thats a really good option. especially for the price!!!
The Felons Coat is AWESOME but very expensive for a NPC

I've always liked Leliana in the Dalish armour - who can resist seeing her in a leather bikini?!?

This exactly....
Was a very good armor set, with good dex bonuses, until I get Felon's Coat. Especially since it upgrades all the way to Teir 7. (But I'm not taking gold into consideration with the Coat.)

Where can I get a full set of the Dalish Armor? I looked on the Wiki and they didn;t even have it listed so I don;t even know the specs??
You can get all the pieces by completing the Dalish Elf quest or you can buy pieces of it in the Dalish camp. It is considered light armour but pretty good bonuses for what it is. Leliana as an archer will have high Dex and a high Defense because of it.
Like the others have said, Felon's Coat is the best but I'd rather not spend that much gold on a back-line NPC. Besides, I'd like to see as much of Leliana as possible, if you know what I mean . . .

Ok, I finished the Dalish Elf quest and don’t remember getting it so I guess I have to go buy it but if I remember correctly the shop in the Dalish camp had a lot of different armor and I don’t particularly remember a special set. Do I just have to buy individual pieces? If so what is the name and what material?

I also might mix and match my warden to utilize the best +% crit armor/weapons instead of trying to keep full sets together. With RtO released for PS3 now, Duncans and Rose's daggers plus some good armor could make a huge difference, as I tend to have Morrigan paralyze anybody I am fighting, along with dirty fighting and riposte.

I am planning on upgrading my DW rogue to the Ancient Elven set as the tiny bit of extra aggro won't make a difference as he tends to pull anyways from grenandes and sweep. This will free up Shadow of the Empire or Felon's Coat for Leil. I don't have a problem spending cash on "back" characters, as cash is easy to come by. I tend to put the best armor sets on all characters (even camp drifters) for the final battle.

Camp drifters need armor for the final battle??? I think I'm in trouble. I wasn't planning for that. I have 3 NPCs that I almost always take with me and 1 alternate for special occasions. They have equip. All the others are absolutely naked!!

If your origin story is Dalish Elf, you'll have a full set of the armor between looting, chests, and starting equipment. The material will be rough - cured but the Dex bonuses are still there iirc. It's called Dalish "_________" whatever slot it fills.
so it's just dalish leather rough or cured? Whay Tier is it rated?

Also, is this why I'm supposed to donate stuff to that crate in camp? I don;t have enough extra stuff to just give it away...i need the money
SPOILER:
Part of the final battle is use your backup characters to defend the gate. While you could do it with crappy armor, it would be much harder.
END SPOILER:
If this is your first time through I can understand your money frustrations. Later playthroughs will be much easier to gain money as you understand better what is needed to make it.
The donation for the allies is dual purpose. One, it ups the lvl on your allies. I don't know if this matters really since I only use the allies for the Archdemon. Two, it gains your characters experience and is the only true way to reach the level cap.

Wow!! it would be nice if somehow in the game they hinted that this was going to happen? I have 3 party characters that I really concentrated on developing. The rest I stripped down naked, sold all their stuff, hell, i don't even know what talents they have/do. I was going to play with different characters on my next play through so I havent bothered at all with them. Also, I've never donated anything to the allies. The game never explained that you had to or that it would help you.

I generally equip my PC in the best that money can buy, my "A-team" NPCs in the best found items (with a few inexpensive exceptions), and my "back line" NPCs in the leftovers.
I've never had a problem defending the gate in whatever armor I found--you'll have many soldier NPCs to help with that fight.
Just keep your "back-line" NPCs leveled and outfitted half-way decently and you'll be fine. You can level them in camp through the Character page.
