Daaamn Dragon Age 2 by next year??! Didn't Mass Effect 2 take like.... 2+ years or so to make?
That's... just... really short time and with a date Jan-March already set? Hmmmmm.
Yeah, but ME2 completely dumps the essentially the entire combat engine of ME1, right? If Dragon Age 2 is going to have the same gameplay (presumably polished a bit), then all they have to do is make new areas, characters, write a new plot, etc, right?
But like another guy said, we get look forward to enjoying the delays. If they say February of 2011 it probably means August of 2011.

Still if it does continue with our charecters i'd also hope our beloved team mates return (origins & awakening teams) in one massive group with some new cast of course(shale & justice might be unavilible though lol), that'd be pretty kick ass, maybe bump the outgoing party to 5 or 6 members
Definetly toss in a graphics touch up, tighten up those charecter models to more a ME2 standard then a WoW standard and stop reuse'n armor models~! only two massive armors exist in the game currently with a zillion reskins, go more stylish then practical, it's a freak'n videogame not a history channal special, girls should have more sexy skin revealing wardrobes with a touch of refinement of course, guys should stay sleak & stylish, lighter pading armors with some leather, no minni skirts on guys *coughZevrancough*again....heavy & massive armors just need more variety(despretly!)

The pic of the dragon with both wings clearly visible makes it seem like DA 2...and as said earlier you generally don't announce expansion packs almost a year in advance...
It still might be an expansion though. Remember; Awakenings has a different 'blood cover' than Origins does (what with the children and all, rather than a dragon)
It could even be a REALLY large expansion pack; a Origins 1.5.

So with that said, we can speculate and even start rumor. Therefore, effective immediately I am claiming that it's a DA spinoff involving Figor, the little-known dwarven shop owner in Orzammar. The game presents various sales and marketing challenges, forcing the player to make difficult choices.
It's a business simulator game.

It could be a sequel, but game companies usually hype sequels up to a year in advance, and I'll be highly skeptical if after Awakening goes on sale in a few days there's nothing hyping a future DA 2 from Bio/EA for the next 2-3 months. The hype machine HAS to start early.

"Could be!
Who knows?
There's something due any day;
I will know right away,
Soon as it shows.
It may come cannonballing down through the sky,
Gleam in its eye,
Bright as a rose!
Who knows?
It's only just out of reach,
Down the block, on a beach,
Under a tree.
I got a feeling there's a curse due,
Gonna come true,
Coming to me!
Could it be? Yes, it could.
Something's coming, something evil,
If I can wait!
Something's coming, I don't know what it is,
But it is
Gonna be bad!
With a click, with a shock,
Phone'll jingle, door'll knock,
Open the latch!
Something's coming, don't know when, but it's soon;
Catch the moon,
One-handed catch!
Around the corner,
Or whistling down the river,
Come on, deliver
To me!
Will it be? Yes, it will.
Maybe just by holding still,
It'll be there!
Come on, something, come on in, don't be shy,
Meet a guy,
Pull up a chair!
The air is humming,
And something bad is coming!
Who knows?
It's only just out of reach,
Down the block, on a beach,
Maybe tonight . . . "

I mean, when they released Origins - they were already working on Awakening. I'm sure they are probably working on the next expansion as we speak. I am guessing we can see two or three expansions in total before this sequel comes out.
And before people think its an expansion. I think its an actual sequel. With the dragon and the "two wings" for dragon age two. Plus, it just seems like they wouldnt set a release date that far ahead for a dragon age expansion.

Bioware > Blizzard.
Bioware knows how to make quality games, and fast.
I'm not bashing you, just that Blizzard uses that quote ALL the time for there games. I mean, they announced like Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2...4 years ago?
